About this episode
The episode discusses the trial of Jesus and the significance of the jury's verdict in the context of modern media trials.
In an age when trials of well-known people are often touted as media events, it is becoming common for a nation to hold its breath while waiting for a jury to return a verdict. Some of us are old enough to remember the OJ Simpson trial. More recent ones have involved celebrities from Hollywood and Washington politicians. The words “the jury is in” carry weight, whatever “side” of the issue you might happen to take. So too the trial of Jesus. He had, of course, been unfairly treated. Punished though all the investigators found no fault in him. Crucified because of the cries of popular opinion (and nasty Jewish leaders). But even as he draws his final breaths, the jury verdict means so very much. Join together as we hear the verdict, voiced by each of those sitting in judgment on Jesus. And be prepared to cast your vote too.
