The SPIRIT - 1:2b Was hovering over the face of the waters - determines, decrees, authority over, is there a veiled reference to Jesus walking on the water? The Trinitarian Creator - John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:16; Heb. 1:2 III. The FIRST DAY - 1:3-5 And God said (God is verbal). - first recorded words of our Creator) - Reminds men of several occasions when Jesus spoke with great response: John 11:43; John 19:30; II Thessalonians 2:8-12; Revelation 19:13, 15, 21 “God is Light”- future description of our Creator (I John 4); Also God is love ; God is holy. And God saw (God is visual) And God called (God is definitive) - later in chapter 2 Adam would name the animals. + Creation, Separation, & Light are eventually placed in the context of the gospel of saving grace: = John 1:1-13 = Revelation 21:22-27; 22:1-5
