| 6/14/26 | ![]() Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament #1 | Welcome to Gospel Rant! Watch me also on DrBillSenyard YouTube channel. This, in my opinion, is the #1 prayer of not only the New Testament, but both testaments. It was among the final words of Jesus to the Apostle John, on the last page of the Bible, and he commands us to pray this. We are standing at the edge of the last page of the last book in the entire revelation of God. Ink drying. History trembling. Heaven leans close. And here, at the very end of everything written— we hear a voice. Not an angel. Not a prophet. Not a rumor of hope. Jesus. “Yes. I am coming soon.” Come Lord Jesus, Come. My Top NT Prayer. We will see what you think. And now, it’s your turn… Your interaction helps this message reach more people! We’d love your feedback: Bill@gospel-app.com Thanks in advance—and enjoy the series! Next week, I will begin a series through the Book of Judges. I am calling it Breaking Badly after the hit TV show a while back. Relevant, important, and not what you will usually hear. | 6/7/26 | ![]() Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament #2 | Welcome to Gospel Rant! Watch me also at DrBillSenyard YouTube channel. Let's walk with Jesus those final steps again. Whirlwind days: Hosanna crowds, waving branches, Jerusalem hope. Yet beneath cheers, fractured—they craved rescuer on their terms. King of imagination, not suffering Servant. Upper room: final meal heavy with meaning. Broken bread. Lifted wine. Betrayer named. Basin water. Son of God washing dusty feet. Departure words. Invisible kingdom. They didn't grasp. Loneliness fogged in. Post‑meal Psalms rise: "Hosanna. Blessed is He who comes." Irony stung—prophetic words, unaware singers. Down Kidron slope. Across the brook. Gethsemane—"olive press." Pressure fitting. Jesus breaks the silence: "Tonight you all fall away." Protests. He knows better. How alone already? Takes Peter, James, and John farther. Past midnight. Twenty hours sleepless. Jesus is beyond tired. "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch." (Matt 26:38) Goes farther. Falls facedown. “My Father, if possible, may this cup be taken from me…” And my Top 10 Prayer #2: “Yet not my will—Yours be done.” Welcome to the Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament. | 5/31/26 | ![]() Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament #3 | Welcome to Gospel Rant! The so‑called High Priestly Prayer is breathtaking—larger than our expectations, deeper than our usual prayers. We often ask, “What is God’s will?” The full answer is complex, but here we are handed two crystal‑clear desires straight from the Son’s lips. That must count. First, that we—Spirit‑filled followers of Jesus—would be one, even as the Father and the Son are one. Second, that we would know—really know—that the Father loves us even as He loves the Son. This is not a theologian’s aspiration or a prophet’s wish list. These are among the final requests Jesus made before the cross, and He explicitly prays them “for those who will believe in me through their message.” That includes us. Surely that alone makes this a fitting candidate for one of the great prayers of the New Testament—and fills the heart with almost dizzying hope. But honesty presses in: How is it going? | 5/25/26 | ![]() Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament #4 | Welcome to Gospel Rant! Watch this also at DrBillSenyard YouTube channel. What do you do when the bottom falls out of your world? When the unforgivable happens, and you can’t do anything to fix it? Do you grieve honestly, or armor up and move on, using coping strategies that only cover the wound? This prayer is for hurting, angry, wounded people. There is a God who says you should feel outraged by what’s happened to you. You were created to hate dishonor and to long for real honor, love, and glory. To stuff that is to commit a small crime against your own soul. Welcome to the Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament. | 5/18/26 | ![]() Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament #5 | Welcome to Gospel Rant! Watch this and more on our DrBillSenyard YouTube channel. But how do we pray when someone crushes, betrays, abandons, abuses, or robs us? Our gut screams for God's righteous wrath. It's human—even for believers. We Christians tsk-tsk vengeance from a safe distance. Yet quotes like Nietzsche's ring true: "It is impossible to suffer without making someone pay for it; every complaint already contains revenge." Or ancient duty: "To exact revenge for yourself or your friends is not only a right, it's an absolute duty." We know that we should not feel it. But to be honest, it would be a rare thing for a victim to not feel that desire at one point in time. Of course, the Bible condemns it: "Vengeance is Mine" (Dt. 32:35). "Do not say, 'I will recompense evil'; wait for the Lord" (Prov 20:22). "Love your enemies… pray for those who persecute you" (Matt 5:44). "Shall God not avenge His elect who cry day and night?" (Luke 18:7). "Do not avenge yourselves… 'Vengeance is Mine'" (Rom 12:19). And yet, to our shame, so many have found that it is easier said than done—in truth, all of us. Our Top 10 Prayer #5 is not just an admonition that we shouldn’t feel vengeance, no, it is Jesus Himself pleading to His Father in Heaven that the Father would forgive those who were unjustly victimizing, abusing, violently dishonoring him to death. | 5/11/26 | ![]() Top 10 Prayers of the New Testament #6 | Welcome to Gospel Rant! Watch this also on YouTube DrBillSenyard. Top Ten Prayer #6 comes from Paul, the very heart of his important letter to the Ephesians. If you want to understand Ephesians, you need to have digested this prayer. It is that important—and life changing. What if we've made prayer harder than it needs to be—and seen too little fruit? What if experiencing even 10% more of God's deep love for you right now—or 5% more for your neighbors, or 7.5% more of His pride in you—flowed not from performance, but Jesus' finished work? Wouldn't that change how you pray? Wouldn’t that change how often you pray? Wouldn’t the content and tone of your prayers feel entirely different? Paul models exactly that. Top Ten Prayer #7 comes from a young woman who has just heard from an angle of all beings that she is pregnant. “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me as you have said.” One sentence. No sermon. No bargaining. No delay. Just surrender. Welcome to Gospel Rant Podcast and DrBillSenyard YouTube channel. As I said about the Old Testament ranking, they are all favorites of God. Irreverent?” I get it. It’s Jesus’ words—familiar, revered. But spoiler: Top 5 are also Jesus’. After decades studying its context, its genius isn’t the script—it’s why Jesus answered, “How should we pray?” this way. We’ve misunderstood. It’s better than we think. | 2/8/26 | ![]() The Gospel According to Job 3 | The Gospel According to Job 3 Welcome to Gospel Rant! Dr. Bill is going to suggest that we have misunderstood how we are to ‘win’ in our Christian walk. It is not about the Retributive Principle at all. In fact, the clue is found all the way back in Genesis. Here’s one very provocative quote in this show. “Faith says that God’s wisdom is such that there is a possibility that going through hell could be part of an elaborate loving gift of God to one he wants to reward.” Both wildly troubling and comforting at the same time. It just may answer a few of your many questions to God. Or…It may give you a few more. | 11/10/25 | ![]() The Church the Holy Spirit Built! #7 | This is Part 7 of our series: The Church the Holy Spirit Built. Luke continues to highlight the powerful themes shaping this early movement—based on legitimate eyewitness accounts. There was a surprising unity, a deep sense of shared purpose, radical generosity, and undeniable power. So what was going on? If I had to sum it up for Theophilus, I’d simply say: “…and much grace was upon them all.” (Acts 4:33, NIV) In context, charis refers to the experienced favor of God—poured out over the gathered believers. This wasn’t just about agreeing with a confession of faith. They felt it. They knew it. God was irrationally for them. He actually liked them—as they were. Imagine that. Imagine what it would feel like to live in the confidence of God's unearned, unstoppable favor. It was visible. It was powerful. It was megale—great. Something unmistakably special. Something enviable. And honestly... Don’t we need that today? 👉 Like 👉 Share 👉 Comment 👉 Subscribe Your engagement helps spread this message. | 11/3/25 | ![]() The Church the Holy Spirit Built! #6 | Remember how this whole series began?Luke is writing to Theophilus—likely to explain what got into those original disciples of Jesus… and what kept driving the movement over the next 30 years, transforming it into an international phenomenon unlike anything the world had ever seen. | 10/27/25 | ![]() The Church the Holy Spirit Built! #5 | This is Part 5 of our series: The Church the Holy Spirit Built. I’m continually amazed by the transformation of Peter. Who told him he could heal a crippled man? What if it hadn’t worked? What if he became a public joke?Wouldn’t it have been safer—and more practical—to just start a GoFundMe for the guy? And yet, there he is. Bold. Unfiltered. Taking a wild, Spirit-led risk.Honestly, don’t you imagine Peter was just as shocked as everyone else?I can almost see John turning to him, eyebrows raised, thinking:“What just happened?! Peter… what are you doing?” So why now? Why this place? Why this man? Because Jesus was scripting something far bigger. The physical healing was incredible, yes—but it was just the setup. The real miracle—the one that changes everything—was still to come. And with everyone’s attention locked in, Jesus speaks... through Peter. 👉 Like👉 Share👉 Comment👉 Subscribe Your interaction helps this message reach more people. | 10/20/25 | ![]() The Church the Holy Spirit Built! #4 | This is Part 4 of our series: The Church the Holy Spirit Built. What we see here is the visible DNA of Jesus and His Spirit—actively moving through and motivating ordinary people. Because of His presence, these regular folks—people just like us—began to show signs of something radically new: A deep and undeniable devotion to the gospel (proskateresis)—a prioritization that hadn’t been there before. A surprising unity of thought, intention, purpose, and vision (homothumadon)—in stark contrast to the divisiveness so common in any group. A bold, sometimes messy, but genuine other-oriented compassion that led them to meet the needs of others above their own (diamerizo). Sure, people can show some of this on their own—plenty of non-believers do. But Luke is pointing to something more. This movement was unmistakable, public, noticed. It wasn’t perfect, but it was powerful. Ask any pastor today—they’d agree: This was special. So here’s the question:Church—why don’t we expect this today? 👉 Like👉 Share👉 Comment👉 Subscribe Your interaction helps this message reach more people.
