| 2/15/26 | ![]() 278 - Labyrinth w/ special guest Mo (it’s her favorite movie) | Happy 40th anniversary to Labyrinth! Join us as we discuss the puppets, the painted backdrops, the codpieces, and the meaning behind a film that proved formative for many filmgoers of our generation … except for Dan and Stephen, who never saw it before. Joining us is Mo, who has proudly declared that this is her favorite film, and who brought a wealth of knowledge and behind-the-scenes trivia to the table (as well as a David Bowie action figure). Be sure to leave us a nice review and subscribe wherever you get your podcasts! Follow us on Instagram (and honestly, screw Twitter or X or whatever the heck it is). Check out ScullyVision for updates! Did you know that Dan made a movie? WELL HE DID, and if you want to see it, follow Peak Form on Instagram and Facebook for updates! | — | ||||||

| 12/15/25 | ![]() 276 - The Secret Life of Walter Mitty | Now that Severance is blowing minds and winning Emmys, we look back at the film where reliable comedy director Ben Stiller first shifted into auteur mode. His ambitious adaptation of the classic James Thurber short story is a mashup of big ideas, clever direction, and appearances from people who you forgot were even in this movie (which you probably forgot existed). It was Stephen’s turn to pick a film, and his surprising selection proves quite discussion-worthy, both in a thematic sense and a technical one. It’s likely you haven’t seen this film in ages — you’re due for a rewatch! GRAB LIFE BY THE HORNS. Be sure to like and subscribe on your podcatcher of choice, and if you’re feeling the holiday spirit, leave us a review! And if you’re not feeling the holiday spirit, don’t, ya Scrooge. I Like to Movie Movie wishes you and yours a magical holiday season. We thank you for tuning in here in 2025, and we look forward to providing you with more great stuff in 2026. | 11/15/25 | ![]() 275 - Megan: Impossible - THE FINAL RECKONING | We did it!!! The Final Reckoning is here! What started as a silly project to expose Megan to the ultimate action espionage franchise turned into a rebirth for I Like to Movie Movie, and we could not be happier for the results. We also could not be happier to finally be out from under this franchise. We are now free. Free to wear whatever masks we choose. In this episode we look back on the history of the franchise and assess Final Reckoning’s role as not just the end of the story, but the end of a filmmaking era. What’s next for Tom Cruise? What’s next for Christopher McQuarrie? Why did the navy put its hottest soldiers on the same submarine? When did Luther fall ill? Is that Ilsa Faust we see? Be sure to like, subscribe, and leave us a review on your podcatcher of choice. Follow us on Instagram and Twitter. Stay tuned to ScullyVision.com for more fun stuff. Send your clicks over to TubiTV to see Dan in .ask, as well as YouTube and FoundTV for Found Footage Finds (help us get a season two!!!!) | 10/15/25 | ![]() 274 - 28 Days/Weeks/Years Later | Happy Halloween from I Like to Movie Movie! Join us for a super spooky celebration of one of the most enduring fright franchises of all time: 28 Days/Weeks/Years Later! It’s been over two decades since the original film brought rage zombies to the big screen, and in the interim, Danny Boyle and Cillian Murphy became Oscar winners, and Alex Garland became a household name. Join us as we look back on the series, dissect the latest entry, and look into the future of the franchise (which is coming soon than you think!)Follow I Like to Movie Movie on Instagram and Twitter, and be sure to like and subscribe on your podcatcher of choice! | 9/15/25 | ![]() 273 - Mulholland Drive | Earlier this year we lost one of the greatest filmmakers to ever do it, David Lynch. From the surrealism of Lost Highway to the melancholic charm of The Straight Story, Lynch embraced a wide range of artistic sensibilities across multiple mediums. His work can charm, terrorize, tittilate, and provoke, often times through a single image. This is especially true for Mulholland Drive, perhaps the most accessible of his notoriously cryptic original works. Largely considered one of the best films ever made, Mulholland Drive is a magnum opus by every metric. Today we honor Lynch’s artistic legacy by doing our darndest to crack this deeply moving neo-noir thriller as wide open as can be (spoiler alert: it’s more about us than the film itself, as is fitting to Lynch’s modus operandi). Be sure to follow I Like to Movie Movie on Instagram and Twitter, and check out ScullyVision for more fun stuff. Check out .ask on TubiTV as well as Found Footage Finds on FoundTV. Fix your hearts or die! RIP David Lynch. | — | ||||||
| 8/15/25 | ![]() 272 - Superman | Up in the sky! It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s the latest iteration of the OG superhero, and he’s here to fight for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow! Join us as we discuss James Gunn’s take on the Big Blue Boy Scout, starring Philadelphia’s own David Corenswet (Go Birds!). In this episode we dive into what makes this crowd-pleasing blockbuster such a success, while also investigating what made previous versions of Supes unique. Is the latest also the greatest? This episode comes out on Dan’s birthday, so if you want to make him a happy middle-aged man, send him some money. But if you can’t do that, leave us a review, share the episode, and follow I Like to Movie Movie on Instagram and Twitter! | 6/15/25 | ![]() 270 - Megan: Impossible - The Road to *The Final Reckoning (Part Seven) | It’s official: Megan is now caught up for The Final Reckoning. Granted, we’ve all actually seen The Final Reckoning by now, but we are nothing if not completists, and we desperately needed to record this one before the last film hit theaters !! So enjoy this, the penultimate episode in our franchise dissection (we will be waiting for home video to do an episode on The Final Reckoning — we need a break from these missions, as do you — perhaps we’ll go rock climbing!). What a journey it’s been! Follow the show on Instagram, and stay tuned to ScullyVision for updates! Please leave us a review wherever you’re listening to this (it helps — and be nice!). Next month’s episode (7/15) will be our Mid-Year countdown, so get your yellow legal pads ready for some recs. | 5/11/25 | ![]() 269 - Heathers | As the newest recruit to the Movie Movie team it was only right for Megan to have a turn picking a movie for the show. | 4/15/25 | ![]() 268 - Megan: Impossible - The Road to *The Final Reckoning (Part Six) | Megan has never seen a Mission: Impossible movie. Dan and Stephen are making her watch ALL OF THEM. That’s right, as the final (?) film in the series quickly approaches, we will be going through the ultimate preparatory task. It sounds impossible, but we’ll succeed, just like Ethan Hunt and the IMF gang! This time we’re talking Fallout, and it seems the trio is in agreement: this is top-tier Tom-foolery! So cock your punching arms, take some helicopter piloting lessons, and as always, trust your team. | 3/16/25 | ![]() 267 - Megan: Impossible - The Road to *The Final Reckoning (Part Five) | Megan has never seen a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie. Dan and Stephen are making her watch ALL OF THEM. That’s right, as the final (?) film in the series quickly approaches, we will be going through the ultimate preparatory task. It sounds impossible, but we’ll succeed, just like Ethan Hunt and the IMF gang! We have plenty of time, so this won’t be a back-to-back-to-back project, but expect plenty of M:I talk over the coming year or so. This time we’re talking Rogue Nation, the entry that brings Christopher McQuarrie to the director’s chair, securing his job as the man who will bring this series across the finish line. We talk about the film’s unique structure, the locking in of the team dynamic, and the introduction of Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust, the English counterpart to Ethan Hunt, and owner of the coolest name in all of fiction. So tie your ass to a plane, put on your opera suit, and hold your breath for a very long time: We are the living manifestation of destiny, and we are going to put you in a box! Please follow us on Instagram and Twitter , and check out ScullyVision.com!We have merch! | — | ||||||
| 2/17/25 | ![]() 266 - 2025 Film Preview | “It's better to look ahead and prepare, than to look back and regret.” So says Olympic legend Jackie Joyner-Kersee. While she was talking about living a full life and not about seeing a year’s worth of movies, it was ultimately the best quote I could find to suit our latest episode. Yeah, I know we’re already at the end of February, but that still gives us ten months of films to anticipate (and you already saw DEN OF THIEVES: PANTERA, against which all 2025 movies will surely pale). Dan, Stephen, and Megan have each compiled a list of ten films that have them champing at the bit to get to the theater. Come plan your moviegoing year with I Like to Movie Movie! | 1/26/25 | ![]() 265 - Wolf Man | There have been as many werewolf movies as there have been attempts at rebooting the Universal Monsters … uh … Universe, but it seems that writer/director Leigh Whannell has finally cracked the code, first with The Invisible Man, and now with Wolf Man, his uncommonly emotional take on everyone’s favorite flat-nosed wolfman. Join us as we discuss the novel thematic angle he and co-writer Corbett Tuck have introduced to the material, as well as the stunning cinematic craft employed to bring this lean-and-mean thriller to life. After our discussion we pitch our own Universal Monsters reboots. Please follow the show on your podcatcher of choice, and be sure to like and subscribe. Leave us a review! A GOOD ONE! | 12/23/24 | ![]() 264 - The Best Movie Movies of 2024 with new full-time cohost, Megan! | We did it! We made it to the end of 2024 with our bodies intact and our brains filled with wonderful cinema. Join us as we count down our favorites of the year! You may notice that things are a bit different here at I LIKE TO MOVIE MOVIE, namely in the department of hosting duties. Yes, that’s right, Megan is officially joining the podcast as a full-time host!! Still, you should leave her alone. 2025 is going to be incredible, and the show you know and love will be growing. New logo, new schedule, and a fully updated format. To quote Stephen: “2025? More like twenty-twenty-THRIVE!”Make sure to follow the show @moviemoviecast on Twitter and Instagram for updates!! | 11/24/24 | ![]() 263 - Megan: Impossible - The Road to Dead Reckoning Part Two (Part Four) | Megan has never seen a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie. Dan and Stephen are making her watch ALL OF THEM. That’s right, as the final (?) film in the series slowly approaches, we will be going through the ultimate preparatory task. It sounds impossible, but we’ll succeed, just like Ethan Hunt and the IMF gang! We have plenty of time, so this won’t be a back-to-back-to-back project, but expect plenty of M:I talk over the coming year or so. This time we’re covering Brad Bird’s MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - GHOST PROTOCOL. Ethan Hunt and his newly formed team of spies, hackers, and analysts must save the world using rickety gadgets, death-defying stunts, and a touch of prestidigitation. No help from Luther this time around, and no big bad villain either. How does this electrifying entry stack up against the rest of the series so far? What does an animation director bring to live-action cinema? Will the female lead return for the next movie? Do you even know her name?Be sure to follow the show on Instagram and Twitter @moviemoviecast, and head over to ScullyVision.com for updates on everything we do. | 9/22/24 | ![]() 262 - Rebel Ridge | It’s always a treat when Jeremy Saulnier drops a new movie, and his latest, the progressive-minded FIRST BLOOD riff REBEL RIDGE is yet another notch in his belt as the master of meaty, high-pressure thrillers. We discuss the morality of policing, the atypical way violence is employed to support theme, and whether or not a bicycle can still be ridden after a bitchass cop hits it with his car. Dan hates cops, Stephen hates continuity errors. After the discussion we count down some of our favorite “back against the wall” movies. Follow I LIKE TO MOVIE MOVIE on Instagram and Twitter, and stay tuned to ScullyVision for updates. We have merch. NOTE: We are going on a short hiatus through October for so Dan can cover Fantastic Fest, PUFF, and PFF, and so Stephen can travel. We will return in November!! | — | ||||||
| 9/8/24 | ![]() 261 - Beetlejuice | In honor of the release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice we’re going back in time 36 years to dig six feet deep into the original film. Tim Burton’s raucously imaginative comedy gave rise to action figures, a cartoon, and a broadway musical, but can it survive sequelization? Kick off spooky season with us! After the discussion we count down our favorite roles from stand-up comedians turned actors. Follow the show on Instagram and Twitter, and be sure to check out our merch store. | 8/17/24 | ![]() 260 - Megan: Impossible - The Road to Dead Reckoning Part Two (Part Three) | Megan has never seen a MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movie. This time we’re talking J.J. Abrams’ MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III. With the series fresh out of a nü-metal identity crisis, this world-hopping third entry finds the tone which will define the franchise henceforth. Are there too many masks? Not enough? Is Ethan really that good at math? Is Ethan actually capable of physical intimacy? Can Luther hack anything? ANYTHING?!? What is Ethan yelling as he runs through the streets of China? Join us as we celebrate the birth of Benji, mourn the loss of Philip Seymour Hoffman, and wonder where the hell Jonathan Rhys Meyers has been. And remember, there’s no problem that a dangerous feat of athleticism can’t fix. Instead of a list, this week we discuss the latest news out of SDCC, namely the casting of Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom!
