Bone adhesives offer a promising alternative by providing a biodegradable solution that bonds bone fragments together while gradually being replaced by natural bone tissue. This could significantly reduce the overall cost and invasiveness of fracture treatments, improving patient recovery and outcomes. Despite this potential, significant challenges remain. A major hurdle is finding the right balance between adhesive strength and biocompatibility. Many strong adhesives, such as cyanoacrylates, are bioinert and do not integrate with bone, while biodegradable materials often lack the necessary mechanical stability.
