What if the very thing we are chasing is quietly keeping us stuck? In this episode of Insights, I explore a simple but powerful thought reversal. Comfort is not the goal. Comfort is the reward. Most of us want more certainty, more safety and more comfort. There is nothing wrong with that. We need a base layer of certainty to function well as human beings. But when comfort becomes the goal of our life, we often begin to organise our decisions around avoiding discomfort rather than moving toward potential. I begin this episode with a quote from George Lucas, who said that we all live in a cage with the door wide open. That idea struck me deeply because I think all of us have some part of our life where the door is open, but we still behave as if we are trapped. I also share the story of the northern pike fish, which was conditioned to believe an invisible wall was still there, even after it had been removed. It became a powerful metaphor for the beliefs we carry. A belief is often nothing more than a convenient assumption, and sometimes we keep obeying assumptions that no longer reflect reality.
