In this episode, Armineh Babikian discusses her work supporting people with disabilities in Armenia and the stigma surrounding disability in the community.
Armenian-American occupational therapist and PhD candidate Armineh Babikian is the founding director of Therapists for Armenia , a volunteer network working to strengthen rehabilitation and disability services through inclusive, sustainable approaches. In this episode, we talk with Armineh about her group’s projects supporting people with disabilities in Armenia, including #Azad3D , a 3D-printing initiative launched by Therapists for Armenia together with their partners, producing adaptive equipment for people with disabilities.We also explore the stigma surrounding disability in Armenia and Armineh’s research on the community’s needs.
