In this presentation, I explore the sexual abuse and exploitation of children and teenagers, both in person and online, and I focus heavily on one challenge that has driven so much of my work over the last decade: how do we communicate this subject in a way that people can truly understand? Throughout the talk, I break down difficult concepts around grooming, secrecy, silence, manipulation, and disclosure. I also share parts of my own story and explain why I believe we need better conversations in schools, homes, and organisations if we are serious about prevention and early intervention. This talk includes three questions that many people will find uncomfortable, but I ask them for a reason. My goal is not to shock.
