About this episode

The episode discusses polling on US military action against Iran and the shifting perceptions of the US as an ally.

Today let’s talk about recent polling on whether the United States should initiate an attack on Iran. A University of Maryland poll found 21% in favor, 49% opposed, and 30% unsure; among Republicans, 40% favored, 25% opposed, and 35% were unsure. So what is going on here? One day we hear about progress in talks with Iran and the next, it seems war is imminent. Let’s discuss Trump’s motivations and the shifting geopolitical order which has greatly accelerated in the past year. Additionally – a large portion of the Canadian public no longer view the US as an ally and many view it as a larger threat to global stability than Russia or China. We’ll get into those numbers as well and try to unpack what it means in the restructuring of global power. Thanks for tuning in and we’ll see you next week.
