Fresh out of graduate school, Cindy embraced the challenge. Her Lady Lancer golfers won national championships in 1993 and 1995, and 10 golfers were named All-American 18 times. Now, in her 24th season at UNC-Wilmington, she has won seven conference titles and advanced to the NCAA regionals eight times. As a senior, she led Longwood College (now Longwood University) to a sixth-place finish in the 1975 AIAW/National Field Hockey Assoc. tournament. The '75 team was named to the 2026 LU Athletic Hall of Fame. Terri taught health and physical education for 30 years in the Virginia Beach Public Schools and coached prep soccer for 19 years. The Virginia Beach native officiated high school field hockey for 46 years and on the college level.
