About this episode

A new mural is set to debut in East Lawrence, co-created with the public through design workshops.

East Lawrence is about to get a whole lot more colorful thanks to a new mural set to debut on the east side of Free State Brewing Company, visible from the Burroughs Creek Trail. Funded by the Sunflower Foundation and a community arts grant, the project is a collaboration between local artist Dave Loewenstein and FLAT, aiming to complete the artwork by fall. Inspired by recent murals celebrating the La Yarda Mexican American community, this mural will be co-created with the public through design workshops held every Wednesday evening at 1927 Moodie Road — snacks included. It’s more than just art — it’s about connecting people and transforming trails into vibrant community spaces. Support the show: Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
