About this episode
This episode explores the life and legacy of Joe Hill, a prominent labor folk hero and union organizer.
Songwriter, itinerant laborer, and union organiser, Joe Hill was well known in hobo jungles, on picket lines and at workers' rallies. Thanks in large part to his songs and to his stirring, well-publicised call to his fellow workers on the eve of his execution—"Don't mourn, organise!"—Hill became, and has remained, the best-known IWW martyr and labour folk hero.
