| 6/26/26 | ![]() The Sean McDowell Show - Top 12 Biblical Objections to Near-Death Experiences ANSWERED (Steve Miller) | Many Christians dismiss the evidence from near-death experiences on biblical or theological grounds by quoting Hebrews 9:27, citing soul sleep, worrying about new age associations, or treating any extra-biblical vision as automatically suspect. | 6/26/26 | ![]() Your Nightly Prayer: Evening Prayers for Christian... - Trusting God with Your Friendships | Friends are one of God's most tangible gifts. They are the people we choose, the ones we look forward to sharing meals with, laughing alongside, venting to, and making memories with. They are the chosen family we build around ourselves over the years. And yet, friendship still takes work. Life gets full and pulls us in different directions. Communication gets muddled, and small misunderstandings become unexpected wounds. Family demands leave little room for the investment that friendships require. And sometimes, gradually and painfully, a friend changes, or we do, and the relationship that once felt like solid ground requires new boundaries or a quiet letting go. These losses are real. They deserve to be brought to God with honesty. Proverbs 17:17 sets a high and beautiful standard. A friend loves at all times. Not just in the easy seasons, but in adversity. Not just when it is convenient, but when it costs something. That kind of friendship is a reflection of God's own loyal, steadfast love, and it is the kind we are both called to seek and called to offer. As we trust God with our friendships, it helps to turn the question back on ourselves. If we want good friends, we need to be good friends. We attract people who share our values, and we retain friends who know they are a priority to us. In friendship, we often reap what we sow. So tonight is a good moment to check in honestly. Who are the people you most want to invest in? Are you giving more than you are receiving, or receiving more than you are giving? Are there friendships that need better boundaries, or ones that simply need more of your time and attention? And are there friends who have loved you well, perhaps without hearing it from you lately, who deserve to be thanked? Bring your friendships to God tonight. Trust Him with every one of them, and ask Him to make you the kind of friend that Proverbs describes. Ponder Tonight The kind of friendship Proverbs 17:17 describes, loving at all times and showing up in adversity, is costly and intentional. It does not happen by default. It is cultivated with care and sustained through deliberate investment. Friendship, like every other significant relationship in our lives, is something we steward. We cannot expect to receive what we are not also willing to give. Seasons of life change the shape of our friendships, and that is not always a failure. Some friendships need new boundaries. Some need more investment. And some, honestly, have simply run their course, and releasing them with grace is its own form of faithfulness. Trusting God with our friendships means both praying for wisdom about how to be a better friend and releasing the outcomes of our relationships into His hands rather than trying to manage them entirely on our own. Tonight's Scripture "A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity." — Proverbs 17:17, NIV Your Evening Prayer Father, Thank You for the friends who love us well. For the ones who have shown up in adversity, who have laughed with us and sat with us in hard seasons and chosen to stay. Help us to be that kind of friend in return. Show us how to prioritize the people we love even when life is full and time is short. In the friendships that have grown more draining or complicated, give us the grace and wisdom to set better boundaries. In the friendships that have quietly faded, show us whether to reach out or release them with peace. And in all of our friendships, help us to sow what we hope to reap, investing generously, loving consistently, and showing up when it matters most. We trust You with every one of these relationships. Let the friends we keep draw us closer to You and bring You glory. Amen. Want More? Continue your journey at <a | 4m 12s | ||||||
| 6/26/26 | ![]() Your Nightly Scripture - Growing in Faith One Step at a Time (2 Peter 1) | Evening Scripture 2 Peter, Chapter 1Simon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who, through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ, have received a faith as precious as ours:Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these, he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. And I will make every effort to see that after my departure, you will always be able to remember these things. For we did not follow cleverly devised stories when we told you about the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in power, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty. He received honor and glory from God the Father when the voice came to him from the Majestic Glory, saying, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” We ourselves heard this voice that came from heaven when we were with him on the sacred mountain. We also have the prophetic message as something completely reliable, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation of things. For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. Evening Reflection Faith doesn’t usually grow in dramatic leaps. It usually grows quietly—through ordinary days, repeated trust, and small acts of obedience that no one else sees. I want to be a faithful follower of Christ, but often I feel like I miss the mark because I’m expecting to be full of faith for anything that comes my way the moment it does. We live in a culture today where we want quick fixes and can order something to be delivered the same day. Your growth and walk with God doesn’t work that way. That’s what makes 2 Peter 1 so comforting, and it makes me take a step back and give myself grace in my timeline. This chapter reminds us that spiritual growth is not about becoming perfect overnight. It’s about continuing to walk with God, one faithful step at a time. Sometimes I think I’m not fulfilling all that God has called me to because I’m not always walking in perfect trust and perfect faith. Rather, I have days of doubt and worry. 2 Peter 1 is a great reminder that is meant to | 11m 13s | ||||||

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging” (Psalm 46:1-3). Most of us have had times when we doubt our faith. We doubt if we are truly saved or if anything we do truly matters. While I have never doubted God’s existence, I have doubted His goodness and provision. In retrospect, I can now see God has provided for me even in the darkest of times. However, during trying times, it can be hard to see God. We automatically blame God and reason that He is why we are going through challenging times. Since God is ultimately in control, we question why He is not bringing us deliverance. As someone who has been in this place many times, I can attest to just how much God is present when we think He is not. God is always with us, even if we do not realize it. A particularly tough time for me was when I was in England. I was serving on a mission trip, and there was only one other person and | 6m 08s | ||||||

| 6/26/26 | ![]() Your Daily Prayer - A Prayer to Stop Being Afraid to Ask God for Help Again | In 2 Kings 4, Elisha tells a desperate widow to go collect empty jars from her neighbors — and then adds four words that stop everything: don't ask for just a few. The oil kept flowing as long as there were jars. Her provision was not limited by God's supply. It was limited by what she was willing to ask for. Rachel's invitation to us today is both tender and bracing: stop bringing God the polite, hedged, edited version of your prayers. Bring Him the empty jars — all of them. If you're in a season where answers feel far away, Rachel wrote Desperate Prayers: Embracing the Power of Prayer in Life's Darkest Moments for just those kinds of seasons. Today's Bible Verse "Elisha said, 'Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don't ask for just a few.'"— 2 Kings 4:3, NIV Ponder Today A prayer that didn't come the way you hoped is not a signal to ask for less. Unanswered prayer in the way we expected is not evidence that God is done being good to us or that the full-size version of our request is too much to bring Him. Praying small is often fear dressed up as maturity. When we limit our requests to what feels reasonable or safe, we may be protecting our hearts from disappointment rather than exercising genuine faith. God invites the real prayer, not the polished one. Your provision is not limited by God's supply — it can be limited by what you are willing to ask for. The widow's oil stopped when the jars ran out. Elisha's instruction was to gather as many as possible. God is waiting for you to bring more jars. God's past faithfulness is the foundation for present boldness in prayer. The same God who kept a minivan running for fifteen years beyond its prime is the same God who multiplied oil for a widow with almost nothing. His character has not changed. Bring Him the dreams and desires you have been embarrassed to name out loud. The hopes you have been softening, the requests you have been hinting around — those are exactly what God is waiting to hear. He already knows. He wants you to bring them anyway. A Prayer for You Today Heavenly Father, I have been praying small. You know the prayer I am talking about — the big one from a while back that didn't come the way I hoped, and the way I have been hinting at it ever since. Forgive me for deciding what You can and cannot do based on one answer I didn't understand. Forgive me for calling my fear faith. Forgive me for bringing You the polite version of my prayers when You have been waiting for the real ones. Lord, I am bringing You the empty jars today — the hopes I have been softening because they feel too big, the dreams I have been embarrassed to name out loud anymore. Fill them however You want to fill them. I will trust You with the outcome the way I am finally trusting You with the ask. In Jesus' name, Amen. | 6/25/26 | ![]() Your Hope-Filled Perspective with Dr. Michelle Ben... - How to Overcome the Lasting Damage of Trauma Through God’s Word | Episode Summary: Have you ever wondered why trauma seems to leave lasting marks on your mind, heart, and even relationships? In today's conversation, I sit down with Dr. J. Otis Ledbetter, author of Set Free, Released from the Damage of Trauma, to uncover how we can overcome the destructive effects of trauma and move towards God's peace and restoration. Drawing from scripture and real-life experiences, Dr. Ledbetter reveals how even biblical heroes wrestled with trauma and how we can learn from their stories to create tranquil paths of healing and wholeness. If you've been searching for hope after loss, abuse, crisis, or disappointment, this episode will encourage you that freedom is possible. Today, we're going to be talking about how to overcome the lasting damage of trauma through God's word. Quotables from the episode: Trauma is not the event. Trauma is the chronic reaction to that event. Trauma is ongoing. An event can happen and then it can be in your past. You may never forget it, but it no longer identifies you. And it no longer points the direction that you should go, whether life or death. The first emotion that somebody faces after a traumatic event is fear. Fear leads to anxiety. Anxiety leads to mood swings. Mood swings will lead you into isolation. Isolation brings the worst. It brings hopelessness. And it brings despair, and loss of purpose. The truth is what heals. God does not heal deceit. He heals truth. The one word for parents to pass a heritage to their children their faith, is intentionality. Just do something. Don't think it can be done by accident. Be intentional. The trauma of the unknown is, I think, the most garden variety trauma you can have. Don't leave out the spiritual because there is a God who loves you and he is a God of hope. God knows us so intimately that he knows what we need and willingly provides it. God says, come to me if you're heavy laden. I'll give you rest. He didn't say I'll rescue you. He's not going to rescue you. But he's going to give you a place of rest. Scripture References: Isaiah 61:1—“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.” Psalm 40:2 (NIV) – “He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.” Joel 2:25 (ESV) – “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten.” Recommended Resources: Set Free, Released from the Damage of Trauma by Dr. J. Together, they build essential "theological guardrails" to avoid the common trap of "time snobbery"—the evolutionary fallacy that modern believers have simply moved past ancient struggles. ⏳ From navigating the tension of Christological readings to contrasting the "shadow and substance" themes in the Book of Hebrews , this conversation offers deep theological exploration paired with a refreshing framework for how the church can embody sacred order in a chaotic social landscape today. ️✨ What You’ll Discover in This Episode: The Guardrail of "Time Snobbery": Why modern culture isn’t fundamentally more advanced than ancient biblical communities when it comes to understanding God. | 6/25/26 | ![]() Crosswalk Talk: Celebrity Christian Interviews - Bethany Wohrle Lost Her Niece and Wrote an Album About the Goodness of God | Bethany Wohrle has been with Bethel Music since she was 17 years old. Her voice is on All Hail King Jesus and Living Hope, songs with tens of millions of streams that have been sung in churches around the world. But when her niece Junie died unexpectedly at 18 months old in February 2023, Bethany nearly didn't show up to the Nashville writing camp she had scheduled for her debut solo album just weeks later. She went anyway, and what happened in those writing rooms was not what she expected. Grief, hope, and a God who is still good even when nothing makes sense: Bethany shares how the songs on her debut album Reason That I Sing, releasing July 10, were born not from a desire to process sadness but from a determination to write hope-filled music because she had seen too much of God's faithfulness to doubt Him now. She talks about the song So Close, written for her sister and brother-in-law as a declaration that God can bring dead things back to life, what it means to be a worship leader whose goal is to be as invisible as possible, and why walking through the hardest season of her life left her more on fire to lead people into worship than she has ever been. Highlights How her niece Junie's unexpected death three years ago became the grief behind nearly every song on this album Why she went to the Nashville writing camp just weeks after the loss and what God did in those rooms Why she refused to write a song about sadness and what she chose to write about instead So Close, the song she wrote for her sister, and the moment they both wept listening to the mastered version together What she believes the role of a worship leader actually is — to be invisible and simply connect the congregation to heaven The woman who had never raised her hands in church and what happened when the whole room lifted them together All Authority, the song on the new album declaring that every fear and worry bows to the King of Kings What she is sensing about the movement of God right now and why she does not want to be left behind what He is doing Resources / Links / CTA Bethany Wohrle website: https://bethanywohrle.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bethanywohrle Album: Reason That I Sing Single: He Is Here Bethel Music: https://bethelmusic.com Follow, share, and explore more of Crosswalk Talk Follow, share, and subscribe for more faith-driven conversations on Lifeaudio Discover more Christian podcasts at lifeaudio.com and inquire about advertising opportunities at lifeaudio.com/contact-us. | 18m 00s | ||||||
| 6/25/26 | ![]() Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith - Disbelief and Anxiety - The Surprising Places We Find God: Dr. Michael Guillén and Chris Hodges | This week, we hear from Dr. Michael Guillén, a physicist who grew up in East LA, earned his PhD from Cornell, taught at Harvard, and spent fourteen years as the science editor for ABC News—including a dive to the wreck of the Titanic that nearly killed him. Dr. Guillén shares how decades of studying invisible forces in the universe—dark matter, hidden dimensions, the limits of what science can actually see—ultimately led the self-described atheist to faith and why he believes science makes the case for God stronger, not weaker. Later in the episode, we hear from Chris Hodges, founding pastor of Church of the Highlands, who opens up about the grief, burnout, and panic attacks that brought him to a breaking point after a decade of leading one of the country’s fastest-growing churches—and the five-step process he found in scripture that pulled him out. I don’t feel that lonely. I’m finding that more and more scientists are very receptive to the idea of God.” - Dr. Michael Guillén “Science has made it easier for me to believe in God, not harder. I’ve grown accustomed to dealing with invisible realities. It’s the bread and butter of modern science. The fact that God is invisible is no big deal for me, because I see His fingerprints everywhere.” - Dr. Michael Guillén “I liken the process or the feelings of depression and burnout as kind of being in the cave. Like, you know there’s a way out, but you don’t know where it is and it’s dark and it’s confusing.” - Chris Hodges “Many people only know God in the dynamic; they don’t know Him in the intimate.” - Chris Hodges “When I had a new assignment, and a fresh purpose for life.. Joy flooded my heart the moment I knew God had something He wanted me to do.” - Chris Hodges “I call it the bucket list principle—if you want to start living, start dreaming.” - Chris Hodges “I think people can come out of their burnout conditions by their closeness with the Lord, by renewing their sense of purpose and hope.” - Chris Hodges ________________________ Enjoy wa | 23m 33s | ||||||

| 6/24/26 | ![]() The Walk: A Devotional Podcast from Worship Leader... - Ginny Owens: What We Sing Shapes What We Believe | What if the songs we sing on Sunday are shaping our faith more than we realize? In this episode of The Walk: Faith in the Real World, award-winning artist, songwriter, worship leader, and author Ginny Owens joins us for a thoughtful conversation about worship, theology, discipleship, and the responsibility of leading people in song. After nearly three decades in Christian music, Ginny now serves at Redeemer Church Lincoln Square in New York City, where she helps lead worship in one of the most influential and spiritually diverse cities in the world. She shares what ministry looks like in a post-Christian culture, how worship can help people encounter Jesus, and why every worship leader should think deeply about the songs they choose. Ginny also discusses her new EP, Different Kind of Water, inspired by Jesus' conversation with the woman at the well in John 4. The project explores the longing every person carries and why Christ alone offers the living water that truly satisfies. Along the way, you'll hear stories from her years of touring, lessons learned from studying under Tim Keller, the vision behind The Asaph Project, and practical wisdom for worship leaders seeking to serve their churches with both theological depth and creativity. | 6/24/26 | ![]() Confessions of a Christian Alcoholic with Jon Seid... - The 'Good Christian' with a Secret: Sherry Hoppen on How She Hid Her Alcoholism, and What Finally Brought Freedom | “I told my whole family, ‘I'm quitting.’ But in my head this voice was screaming, ‘I don't know what to do. I can't quit.’” For years, Sherry Hoppen lived between those two realities. To the people around her, she was trying. She was making promises. She was attending church, raising a family, and doing everything a good Christian woman was supposed to do. But behind the scenes, alcohol had become her refuge, her coping mechanism, and eventually her prison. Even after public commitments to quit, she found herself returning to the bottle and becoming increasingly skilled at hiding the truth from the people she loved most. In this episode, Sherry shares the painful road that led her from family trauma and grief into alcoholism, the deception that defined her drinking years, and the repeated attempts to fix herself through determination, discipline, and even cross-country bicycle rides. Yet none of those things could accomplish what only complete surrender eventually would. Today, Sherry is the founder of Sela House Recovery and the author of Sober Cycle. Her story is a powerful reminder that recovery is not ultimately about trying harder, hiding better, or managing appearances. It's about bringing the parts of ourselves we've kept from God into the light and discovering the freedom that comes from a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. | 6/24/26 | ![]() Untangling Prayer with Rachel Wojo - Finding Joy When God's Answer Is No with Kristy Graham of Samaritan's Purse | When you've prayed your hardest and the answer is still no, where does joy come from? This week I sat down with Kristy Graham, host of On the Ground with Samaritan's Purse, for an honest conversation about prayer in the hardest places. Kristy has walked with disaster survivors who lost everything and still praised God, with relief teams who run toward danger when everyone else runs away, and with believers in persecuted countries who pray not for protection but for boldness. Through all of it, she keeps landing on one truth: the joy is in His presence, not in the answer. We talk about surrender, what it means to pray "not my will but yours" and mean it, and how to keep praying with confidence even when God's answer isn't the one you wanted. I shared a bit of my own story with my daughter Taylor, and Kristy shared hers, and together we landed on the same place so many of us need to be reminded of: God is far more interested in being the answer to our prayers than simply answering them. You'll discover: Why joy in suffering comes from God's presence rather than changed circumstances How to pray honestly and still surrender the outcome to God What persecuted believers pray for instead of protection, and why it matters The difference between praying for your circumstances to change and letting God change your heart Why serving others in your own pain can lift the weight you're carrying If you're in a season where your prayers feel unanswered, this conversation is a reminder that you are seen by a loving God who understands your pain and meets you in it.
