Mrs. Nesta Ford navigates a complex situation involving her son Ogden, a yachting adventure, and custody issues with her ex-husband.
In a London hotel room, Mrs. Nesta Ford confides in her new acquaintance, Lord Mountry, about her yearning to take her son Ogden on a yachting adventure he proposed, despite her ex-husband holding custody. Just as Mountry departs, Cynthia Drassilis arrives with Ogden, having led him away from his fathers country estate. Mrs. Ford rewards Cynthia for her boldness, but their moment of triumph is short-lived as Mr. Fords secretary, Mr. Minnick, appears to retrieve the abducted child. In a desperate attempt, Cynthia tries to bribe Minnicks colleague, Mrs. Sheridan, but her efforts fall flat as Mrs. Sheridan believes Nesta has spoiled Ogden. After their departure, Nesta shares the troubling history of Ogden, known as the Little Nugget, and the numerous kidnapping attempts by US gangsters. While Nesta contemplates enlisting professional help, Cynthia insists she can manage with the assistance of her wealthy fiancé, Peter Burns, who can seamlessly infiltrate Ogdens new school as a trainee schoolmaster.
