| 5/29/26 | ![]() Locke | This week on the pod Jimmy brings us the 2013 one man car drama (crama?) that is Locke. We talk about Tom Hardy's epic sick day off work, the millenial nightmare that is being on a stressful phone call for 90 minutes, and how this movie can also act as a radio play or sleeping pill. We also talk the technical behind the scenes, how limitations breed creativity in film, Jack Nicholson's werewolf movie (not really but google it) and a little other films in the person-stuck-in-one-location genre. | — | ||||||
| 5/20/26 | ![]() The Fast and The Furious - Tokyo Drift | This week we ain't rollin in no Hyundai as Tristan brings the 3rd installment of the Fast and Furious franchise to the pod. The movie that inspired young people everywhere to save up their Maccas money to buy a Nissan Skyline, and what Roger Ebert would describe as a magnificent contribution to car cinema - TOKYO DRIFT. Not really, but this one kinda has it all, if by all you mean romantic drifting sequences, west meets east drift philosophy, a killer soundtrack and a few more things that I can't really remember. It's all a blur really but you gotta appreciate this solid 7/10 banger for what is. | — | ||||||
| 5/8/26 | ![]() Olympus Has Fallen | This week on the pod Jimmy has graced us by selecting none other than the 49% RT score rollercoaster that is ̶W̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ ̶H̶o̶u̶s̶e̶ ̶D̶o̶w̶n̶ Olympus Has Fallen! Directed by Anthony Powertool Vengeance Fuqua and starring our beloved Gerard Big Top Butler, we talk about code names, cosy Gerard, knife fights, code names, the one-man army genre, goofy patriotism and a little bit more. And in case there's any doubt we are sure to remind you maybe 5 or 6 times that we recommend this movie. | — | ||||||
| 5/1/26 | ![]() Independence Day | The question of is the podcast alone in the universe, has been answered. ID4 came out 30 years ago, and like a hostile alien race that may or may not have probed Randy Quaid in the cornhole, the pod has returned. For those at home keeping score, this is the first pod back since My Best Friends Wedding episode last year. We still have Olympus Has Fallen coming out next but we thought we'd mark the return with a big 90's blockbuster. | — | ||||||
| 7/3/25 | ![]() My Best Friends Wedding | Say a little prayer that rom coms will be on the pod table in the future after this episode. Spoiler alert - they will be! Friend of the pod and fellow MBFW enthusiast Lucy joins us on this special episode where we cover one of Tristan's favourites. Stay tuned til the end to find out what we'll be covering next week. | — | ||||||
| 6/26/25 | ![]() Black Dynamite | This week the pod picks up the nunchucks for the undeniably good time that is Black Dynamite. We dig the characters, costumes, music and backdrops that perfectly satirise the blaxploitation genre so closely you might forget for a moment that it was made in the late 2000's. | — | ||||||
| 6/19/25 | ![]() Jackie Brown | Jackie and Max forever. Or at least until the phone rings. Join us for a fun chat about Tarantino's quieter but mature 1997 follow up the cinematic game changer that was Pulp Fiction. Plus a personal QT movie ranking at the end. | — | ||||||
| 6/12/25 | ![]() Sympathy For Mr Vengeance | WARNING - Despite our intention to not spoil OldBoy we can't help ourselves so spoilers for that movie from 17:00 - 17:30 This week on the pod Jimmy takes us back to a simpler time of 2002 when revenge movies weren't all about beekeepers, stern Liam Neeson or Russian mafia attacks on puppies. I mean they used to star Kevin Costner and Anthony Quinn back when I was growing up but I guess revenge movies take all forms. Join us for a great chat about Park Chan Wook's break from form with their original and reliably upsetting thriller. Spoiler alert for this one and a bit of a trigger warning as we will discuss key plot elements and child endangerment (in the film of course). Bonus Anne of Green Gables reference. | — | ||||||
| 6/7/25 | ![]() The Sword of Doom | This week it's all about violent psychopaths in Samurai movies as the pod discusses the nihilistic and brutal 1966 film The Sword of Doom. On release it was criticised as meaningless violence but has since been re-appraised as a cult classic and re-released as part of the Criterion collection. This one is going to be pretty niche but we recommend it all the same. If you are interested in watching this film before hand maybe go on and do that first before jumping in as we're going to be discussing key aspects of the plot, characters and the blood soaked controversial ending. | — | ||||||
| 5/29/25 | ![]() Virtuosity | Denzel Washington as a disgraced cop with a shot at redemption. Russell Crowe as the perfect virtual psychopath birthed from some kind of geiger-esque alien egg. Leather cop suits with matching hats. Mechanical arms. Mid murder impromptu musical performance. This movie has a little bit of everything. It's reverse terminator, reverse matrix, reverse lawnmower man, maybe even a Jurassic Park reference. If it isn't already abundantly clear this movie is pretty wild, but we love it all the more for it. Even though some of us were unaware it even existed in the first place. Jump in for a fun chat about this underrated 90's techno thriller. | — | ||||||

| 5/22/25 | ![]() Tank Girl | Tank Girl! Do we really need to say more? Probably yes. Now I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed? This was one that we had not seen for some time so we're looking at whether or not Tank Girl deserves its reputation as a 90's over the top misfire, or whether it can barrel it's way into our hearts and minds in 2025. | — | ||||||
| 5/15/25 | ![]() The Nice Guys | Did you know you can get Captain Kirk's leather jacket from Star Trek 3 The Undiscovered Country? There's some pretty good leather jackets in this one too. We might tangent off a bit on this one so fair warning going in, plus the microphone got dropped before we recorded this and one of the channels sounds a little worse for wear but hopefully nothing that will ruin your day. Thanks everyone for listening and be sure to stick around to the end to find out what next weeks movie will be and stuff. | — | ||||||
| 5/8/25 | ![]() Hook | So many questions. First being does this thing hold up for the millennials like us who probably watched it a thousand times as kids? Is Rufio really a paramecium brain? Why on earth didn't Michael Jackson wanna play Peter Pan???All this and more plus some good stick discussion. | — | ||||||
| 2/12/25 | ![]() Our Favourite Movies of 2024! | Which was better, Madame Web or Joker 2? | — | ||||||
| 7/4/24 | ![]() Terminator 2 - Judgement Day (Season Finale) | We were lucky enough to see Terminator 2 on the big screen recently and sat down to share our thoughts on it. This is the last episode before the pod takes a season break, so we're going out on a big one. In the meantime look for us on instagram @lookwhospodcasting or you can send us an email at lookwhospodcasting@gmail.com and tell us what movies we should cover. | — | ||||||
| 6/19/24 | ![]() Donnie Darko | 28 Days, 6 Hours, 42 Minutes, 12 Seconds. That is when this pod will end. Nah not really. But it's enough time for you to enjoy our chat through one of the Myspace era's favourite films. Time travel, alternative dimensions, bunny ghosts, people from Independence Day, an incredible 80's soundtrack, the list goes on for this mysterious and captivating movie. The guys think this one is worth revisiting so portal on into this new episode and let your trippy water chest portal guide you. | — | ||||||
| 6/16/24 | ![]() Movie Round Up - Challengers / Civil War / Hit Man | Sneakin' in at the buzzer for this one. A delayed episode due to a bit of the winter sneezy blues but couldn't miss talking about some of the best movies to come out in 2024. This week's round up includes the Citizen Kane of bisexual tennis love mindgame movies with Luca Guadagnino's Challengers, the latest from Alex Garland with the intense and gritty Civil War, and Richard Linklater's dark comedy Hit Man. Might also talk about Bananaman for some reason. You can email us at lookwhospodcasting@gmail.com or find us on instagram @lookwhospodcasting. | — | ||||||
| 6/5/24 | ![]() Furiosa - A Mad Max Saga | The pod watched Furiosa over the last weekend and hopped on mic immediately afterwards to share their initial thoughts. A bit of a shorter episode this week but you get our raw fresh takes on the latest entry into George Miller's fantastical Australian apocalyptic wasteland. Frankensteined motorbikes, Marauders, Revenge and nipple chains. Some pretty great cameos in this one too from some familiar faces. Go see Furiosa and listen to this pod. Or listen to the pod and then go see Furiosa! Some pretty minor spoilers about some of the plot details but nothing that will ruin the movie for you. | — | ||||||
| 5/29/24 | ![]() The Mummy (1999) | Sons of the Pharoahs! We may not be adventurers, or explorers, or treasure hunters or gunfighters, but we are proud of what we are...podcasters? This week the guys get the camels into 2x speed and jump into the sexy sandy horror action fan favourite crowd pleaser The Mummy (1999). They chat about the fun backstory behind how the film came to be and how different it could've been, Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and the endearing supporting cast, feelin' kinda bummed for Imhotep and much more. Grab your cat and chew on a scarab cos we're goin to Hamunaptra baby! https://www.gq.com/story/what-ever-happened-to-brendan-fraser https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/a/frazier-tharpe/the-mummy-is-the-best-action-movie-ever | — | ||||||
| 5/22/24 | ![]() Movie Round Up - Fall Guy, Ungentlemanly Warfare and Dead End Drive-In | The pod is back for the second movie round up for May 2024. On this episode we discuss the anticipated Furiosa Mad Max prequel sequel, the new Ryan Gosling / Emily Blunt film Fall Guy (2024), Dead End Drive-In (1986), The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) and also loop back on some previous big titles Love Lies Bleeding (2024) and Late Night with the Devil (2023). | — | ||||||
| 5/9/24 | ![]() Movie Round Up - Love Lies Bleeding, Late Night Exorcisms and Kyle Mclachlan's Repo Man | This week on the movie round up the guys discuss their recent watchlist, featuring Late Night with the Devil (2023), Fire Front (2022), Love Lies Bleeding (2024), The Hidden (1987), Monkey Man (2024) and Drunken Master I and II (1978 / 1994). | — | ||||||
| 5/1/24 | ![]() 1980's Animated Movies | Lots of fun stuff on this one as the pod talks about some of their favourite 80's animated films and ask all the important questions. Was the Little Mermaid pushing boundaries? Is Land Before Time a horror movie? Why does an Irish immigrant mouse need to be sexy? What kind of drugs was Miyazaki-San on? | — | ||||||
| 4/24/24 | ![]() Movie Round Up - Robot Dreams, Driveaway Dolls and Jack Nicholson's Werewolf Movie | Did you know there's a 90's Jack Nicholson werewolf movie with Michelle Pfeiffer and James Spader? Well count your lucky stars today because it gets a brief mention on the round up. But then again so does Kevin Costner's Postman movie, so I guess count your unlucky stars too. As well as the usual recently watched titles the guys for some reason discuss that 90's aussie game show A*mazing and also Dungeon Synth? Lots of fun and interresting titles talked about on this episode, including Drive Away Dolls (2024), Robot Dreams (2024), Blood Tea and Red String (2006), The Vast Of Night (2019), Wolf (1994) and Argyle (2024). | — | ||||||
| 4/17/24 | ![]() Marvel Movies with Angus | OK so here's the deal, I've seen Spiderman 3 (Tobey G) maybe 3 - 15 times. I used to watch Blade pretty religiously and for some that's about as Marvel as it gets. But the guys wanted to talk Marvel Cinematic Universe and for that they needed some help. While the movies can be divisive there's no doubting the impact the MCU has had on the movie landscape the last ten plus years and the success of how some of our favourite comic book characters and stories have been realised on film. Joining the pod to discuss Marvel Movies is our special guest and good friend Angus so don't miss this one. And yes Tobey McGuire will always be my Spiderman fight me. | — | ||||||
