According to the National Weather Service forecast for Collin County, we're looking at partly sunny skies this afternoon with much warmer temperatures climbing into the lower 80s. South winds will be picking up, gusting between 10 to 15 miles per hour. Tonight, expect mostly clear skies with lows dropping to the lower 60s. It's a pleasant spring day out there, so get outside and enjoy it while you can. Speaking of weather, the Storm Prediction Center issued a severe weather outlook for the region yesterday, indicating a slight risk level with about a 10 percent tornado potential for areas including Des Moines, Kansas City, Springfield, and extending into the Ohio Valley and southern Great Lakes. While McKinney itself isn't in the immediate threat zone, it's always good to stay weather aware during severe season. On the local sports front, the McKinney Varsity Boys Baseball team took a tough loss on Thursday, April 16th, falling to Plano East High School 2 to 4 at Al Alford Baseball Field.
