Good morning listeners, welcome to your McKinney update for this Monday. We're coming off quite an eventful weekend in North Texas, and there's plenty to cover. First, the weather. McKinney residents experienced significant severe weather activity over the past 24 hours. According to storm tracking reports, an EF-2 tornado touched down in nearby Runaway Bay Saturday night, producing winds up to 135 miles per hour and leaving a path of destruction that prompted a disaster declaration. Beyond the tornado threat, baseball-sized hail caused widespread damage across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, shattering solar panels and punching through roofs at speeds exceeding 100 miles per hour. The Storm Prediction Center had issued an enhanced risk level for severe thunderstorms, warning of very large hail ranging from 2 to 3 inches, damaging wind gusts, and the potential for strong tornadoes, especially across northern Oklahoma and into North Texas. On the sports front, McKinney High School's baseball team faced Plano East High School on April 17th, falling short with a final score of 5 to 15.
