This interview was one of the most important interviews I've ever done. Although Jimmy Jam and I are both from Minneapolis, our paths rarely crossed until very recently. The interview took place at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California, and there was a pretty big studio audience. For those who don't know, I got my big break in the music industry when Prince fired Jimmy and Terry from The Time. I was Jimmy's (or Monte's) replacement. We'd never discussed that topic until this interview. We also talked about family, his health, and what is important to him at this point in his life.
