Seit seiner Teenager-Zeit träumt Powermetal.de-Kollege Tobias Dahs davon, diese Platte zu machen. Jetzt ist sie endlich fertig! In dieser Pommesgabel-Episode stellt er sein Bandprojekt SERPENT ICON vor, eine Hommage an den Gothenburg Sound des Melodic Death Metal. Zusammen mit Hartmut Stoof (SYMBIONTIC) am Schlagzeug und Christian Müller (NIGHT IN GALES) an den Vocals hat Tobias die EP "Tombstone Stories" geschaffen, die am 6. März 2026 erscheint. Was macht diese Zusammenarbeit so besonders? Tobias schrieb die Songs, gab sie ab und hörte das fertige Ergebnis später mit frischen Ohren – eine bewusst entspannte Arbeitsweise, die perfekt funktionierte. Mit fünf Songs, die verschiedene Facetten des Genres zeigen, geht SERPENT ICON einen Schritt zurück zu den klassischen Wurzeln statt in moderne Interpretationen des Melodic Death Metals. Die Inspiration ist unverkennbar, eine persönliche Handschrift aber auch.
