About this episode

This episode discusses the ongoing experimentation involved in parenting a child with Type 1 Diabetes, highlighting the unpredictability and adjustments required.

If there’s one thing parenting a child with Type 1 Diabetes will teach you, it’s this: nothing is guaranteed. In this episode, we’re talking about the constant trial and error that comes with T1D. The meals that work one day and completely fail the next. The routines you swear by until they suddenly stop working. The decisions you make on a gut feeling because sometimes, that’s all you have. Every bolus, every correction, every snack, every “should we try this?” moment… it’s all part of one ongoing experiment. We’re diving into the mental load of it, the second-guessing, the wins that feel like luck, and the reality that even when you do everything “right,” things can still go sideways. This isn’t about getting it perfect. It’s about learning, adjusting, and showing up again the next day with what you know now. Because in this life, we’re all just experimenting.
