While abuse can happen in any church, the leadership structure in prophetic / NAR movement provides extra cover for wolves to hide behind. As recent stories continue to emerge showing patterns of cover up and abuse, it’s clear that something needs to be done. While there are many good churches with trustworthy leaders - the responsibility to protect the vulnerable falls to all Christians, not just leadership. In order to guard ourselves and our loved ones, we need to know what to watch out for so groomers can be stopped before abuse occurs. In this episode, we’ll track the common patterns that lead to abuse and the red flags to watch out for. Church dysfunction can happen regardless of size or denomination. Over time a lot of small things can add up, unanswered questions and "rules", false teachings and more lead many to finally choose to look elsewhere for a church to call home.In this episode we'll meet Ronnie & Rose and hear a story that is unfortunately all too familiar. A church that honors leadership in unhealthy & unbiblical ways - check. Rules that apply to some more than others -check. Unbiblical teaching - check. Asking questions and getting unsatisfactory answers - yeah, that too.Most stories of church dysfunction aren't from the big name ministries and insane abuse. It happens to normal people in normal looking churches. No matter the denomination or movement that causes us to start asking questions - the disappointment feels the same. But learning to keep asking questions can help you find the right fit.

How do you know if someone is a false teacher? The Bible tells us what to look for, but there are other tell-tale signs too. By looking at a few of the big name charismatic con men from history, we can see a clear pathology take shape that current day false teachers fit into perfectly. The reality is that these wolves in charismatic clothing are nearly all the same in the ways that matter - even if they specialize in different areas. Once you’ve seen the pattern, you’ll know what to look for in the future. The enemy’s schemes haven’t changed, and neither has God’s word. It’s time to stop the cycle!

Deliverance ministry as we know it is largely built on the teachings of one man - Derek Prince. Christians being demonized regularly, works of the flesh blamed on demons, and so much more. In this video we begin where Derek Prince began in his newfound deliverance ministry. We’ll hear him explain in his own sermons how he perfected his tactics, and how his practice of deliverance evolved over time into what we now accept as “normal” in deliverance ministry. We’ll only scratch the surface of his influence, only touch on the beginnings of his loose interpretations of scripture & cover only a few of his influential practices - but we hope to show that deliverance ministry is not biblical. It is just one of many deviations of Christian practice that have appeared in the church far more recently than most people realize.

Discerning false teachers can be difficult. What should we be looking at? What are the warnings that a teacher is in error? When leaving prophetic / signs & wonders movements, it can be so overwhelming it’s difficult to know where to even begin. On this episode we’ll look at some Bible principles to keep us away from the false teaching that harms us & we’ll look at a few common types of error that these principles can guard us against. In time, you’ll grow enough to identify a ministry in error as you build on a strong foundation - but you have to start somewhere. The info in this episode can get you started.

Deconstructing from false teaching is a process. It can be overwhelming to sort truth from error, and many Christians leaving the signs and wonders/prophetic movement aren’t sure where to start. In this video we’ll touch on common teachings & terms to watch out for and learn to avoid in the future. We’ll also give a few pointers to get you started reconstructing a biblical faith in a way that won’t feel forced & gives you time to build a biblical faith at a pace you can feel comfortable moving at. NAR teaching can mess you up, but there is hope to move beyond it and grow into a Christian faith that is full of peace and real fulfillment.

What can you do when a loved one holds on to NAR beliefs but your eyes have been opened? Dealing with doctrinal issues in close relationships like friends, kids or a spouse can be a touchy subject. Both sides believe they are seeing clearly, and neither feels they can compromise their beliefs. A wide range of emotions and stress on the relationship can easily drive us apart - but there is hope. On this episode we’ll touch on some of the common difficulties these relationships face as well as offer practical advice, do’s & don’ts, and a path forward for people who find themselves divided from a person they love over NAR churches & teachings.

Legalism was the sin of the Pharisees, and it’s still alive in the church today. Not only in fundamentalist churches, even the NAR isn’t immune. While it may look different from one movement to another, feeling the need to “perform” good enough for God leads to a life of guilt, shame & condemnation that can take years to heal from. In this episode we touch on what legalism is, some ways that it shows up in a church & what you can do to begin to heal as you learn a more biblically balanced life in freedom.

Worship encounters full of manifestations of the Spirit, are where lives are forever changed. So we are told. But do these manifestations prove that the Spirit is working? Do we really usher in the presence of God? Are Christians taught to be uninhibited in worship, and automatically accept that what we are seeing and experiencing is the work of God? The Bible lists many virtues & fruit that a believer should seek to cultivate, and on this episode we’ll be exploring the reality of these encounters - which could either be true worship according to scripture or an exercise of the flesh, but it cant be both.

Episode 2 - New and immature believers don't yet have the Bible knowledge to separate biblical teaching from man made. How else can we explain why so many have fallen into NAR / Hyper charismatic false teaching? In this episode we'll look at 3 "prophecies" and see if there is really any substance. Discernment is the result of bible study over time, not a gut feeling that something is right or not. It's time to take popular teaching to task, and learn to defend ourself and others from wolves among the flock. Open your eyes to one of the oldest tricks in the enemies' playbook, getting us to believe things that aren't from God as if they really were.
