Reluctant Journey With a Faithful God

Thankfully when we come to the end of ourselves, the Lord is Faithful to refresh, refill, and restore. In this episode, I talk about the difficulties of empty nester mommas watching our "babies" navigate their own faith journeys, painful choices of missing out on important family moments due to chronic illness recovery physical demands, and the power of agreement in our thoughts.

Special Guest, Jake Laney, joins me in this special Advent-season episode as we linger over a timeless Dickens-inspired question: What if I had chosen differently? With hearts turned toward repentance and hope, we contemplate the mystery of God’s sovereign will and unmerited grace—how no moment is wasted, no prayer goes unheard, and how even a single ‘yes,’ surrendered in faith, is woven by God into His redemptive plan for the shaping of another soul’s destiny.

The hard part about moving on from a truly good and fulfilling season is trusting that there is more waiting to be discovered than what you’re leaving behind.

The journey begins with an unexpected illness and interrupted plans. Feeling unfairly trapped in a medical standstill, I turned to the only place I knew to find my strength. God offered me a lifeline with a Psalm of David I initially felt wasn’t “weighty” enough to adequately meet my specific needs of pain and isolation. I have never been more excited to be proven wrong…

This was not the journey I expected to be taking at this season of my life. But what I’ve discovered along the way has been too amazing to keep to myself. I’m as excited as anyone to see what the next chapter brings. I hope you’ll join me in the adventure of a lifetime with the only Author that could create such an incredible story!
