| 6/25/26 | ![]() How Gambling Quietly Steals More Than Money | RIOT Podcast | How Gambling Quietly Steals More Than Money is the topic that will be discussed today on RIOT Podcast, a Christian Discipleship Podcast. Can a Christian gamble without it quietly changing their heart? Online gambling, sports betting, fantasy leagues, casino apps, and digital slot machines have made gambling more accessible than ever before. What once required a trip to a casino now lives inside our smartphones available 24/7, waiting for moments of boredom, stress, loneliness, or financial pressure. In this episode of the RIOT Podcast, we move beyond the question, “Is gambling a sin?” and explore the deeper biblical issues behind gambling: 1. Why gambling has become one of the fastest-growing addictions in modern culture 2. Why people are drawn to the promise of quick wealth and financial freedom 3. What Scripture teaches about stewardship, contentment, greed, and trusting God 4. The difference between wise investing and gambling 5. How gambling affects marriages, families, and relationships 6. Why people continue chasing losses despite repeated failure 7. How gambling can quietly become a form of spiritual bondage 8. Practical, biblical steps toward lasting freedom in Christ Rather than focusing only on behavior, we examine what gambling reveals about our desires, our fears, and ultimately where we place our trust. The Bible consistently points us away from shortcuts and toward faithful stewardship, patience, diligence, and complete dependence on God. Whether you’ve struggled with gambling personally, know someone who has, or simply want to understand what the Bible teaches about money and contentment, this conversation will challenge you to look beyond the bets and ask a much bigger question: What are you trusting to provide the hope, security, peace, and freedom that only Christ can truly give? Scriptures Discussed Proverbs 13:11 Proverbs 21:5 Proverbs 27:20 Ecclesiastes 5:10 Matthew 6:24 Luke 12:15 Luke 8:17 Philippians 4:11 Hebrews 13:5 1 Timothy 6:10 1 Corinthians 6:12 James 5:16 | — | ||||||
| 6/18/26 | ![]() Did Jesus Appear in the Old Testament? | RIOT Podcast | What Mature Christianity Actually Looks Like is the topic that will be discussed today on RIOT Podcast, a Christian Discipleship Podcast. Most Christians know the story of Jesus beginning in Bethlehem. But what if His story started long before that? In this episode of the Riot Podcast, we explore one of the most fascinating questions in all of Scripture: Did Jesus appear in the Old Testament before His birth? Together, we examine the biblical evidence behind what theologians call Christophanies, pre-incarnate appearances of Christ throughout the Old Testament. From the Angel of the Lord who appeared to Hagar in the wilderness, to the burning bush, Jacob’s wrestling match, Joshua’s Commander, and the mysterious fourth man in the fiery furnace, we trace the fingerprints of Christ across the pages of the Old Testament. In this conversation, we discuss: Why Jesus did not begin at Bethlehem What the “Angel of the Lord” reveals about God’s nature The strongest biblical examples of Christophanies Why many scholars connect these appearances to Christ How the Old and New Testaments tell one unified story What these encounters teach us about God’s character and redemption Why seeing Jesus throughout Scripture changes the way we read the Bible today Whether you’re new to this topic or have studied it before, this episode will challenge you to see Scripture through a wider lens and discover how Christ has been at the center of God’s redemptive plan from the very beginning. Key Scriptures: John 1:1–3 John 8:58 Genesis 16 Genesis 22 Genesis 32 Exodus 3 Joshua 5 Daniel 3 Luke 24:27 Hebrews 13:8 What do you think? Do you believe the Angel of the Lord was a pre-incarnate appearance of Christ? Which Old Testament encounter stands out to you the most? | 2/12/26 | ![]() Why Men and Women Think So Differently | Eps 275 | RIOT Podcast | 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗗𝗘 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧!! Today on RIOT Podcast Eps 275 Why Men and Women Think So Differently show, we talk about how God created men and women distinctively and how they can unite as one under Christ. 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐍 𝐍𝐎𝐖 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗼𝗱𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁 Why can two people love deeply yet still feel unappreciated? This Valentine’s episode explores a simple truth: relationships aren’t hard because men and women are broken—they’re hard because we’re different by design. God didn’t create two versions of the same person. He created two distinct ways of thinking, processing, and connecting. Most tension doesn’t come from bad intentions, but from misunderstanding. Boxes vs. Webs Men often think in “boxes”—identify the problem, solve it, close it. Women often think in “webs”—connecting emotions, timing, tone, and relational meaning. He wants resolution; she wants understanding. Healthy communication honors both. Words vs. Tone Men tend to focus on what was said. Women often hear how it was said. He values accuracy; she values emotional safety. The same sentence can land very differently depending on tone and timing. Solutions vs. Connection When a woman shares a problem, a man may instinctively try to fix it. To him, solving is loving. But often she’s looking for empathy first. Connection opens the door for solutions to be received well. Internal vs. Verbal Processing Men frequently process silently; women often process out loud. His silence may mean reflection, while hers may interpret it as distance. Naming the silence and allowing space builds trust. Achievement vs. Relational Health Men often measure success by tasks completed. Women often measure it by emotional closeness. Everything can look “fine” to him while feeling “off” to her. Both stability and connection matter. Direct vs. Descriptive Men often give the headline. Women often give the full story. One values efficiency; the other values depth. Flexibility keeps communication from feeling dismissive or overwhelming. Respect vs. Attention Men commonly feel loved through respect and trust. Women often feel loved through attention and engagement. Love breaks down not because it’s absent, but because it’s expressed in different languages. Intimacy in Different Order For many men, physical intimacy builds emotional closeness. For many women, emotional closeness leads to physical intimacy. Same desire—different sequence. The goal isn’t to eliminate differences, but to understand them. When curiosity replaces assumption, frustration gives way to grace. Healthy relationships aren’t about perfection—they’re about progress, humility, and choosing connection over control. Listen now and ask yourself: Are my choices strengthening the faith of others? | 2/5/26 | ![]() When Being Right Becomes Wrong! 1 Corinthians 8 | RIOT Podcast | When Being Right Becomes Wrong! 1 Corinthians 8 is the topic that will be discussed today on RIOT Podcast, a Christian Discipleship Podcast. Can being theologically right actually make us spiritually wrong? In this episode, we continue our journey through 1 Corinthians as Paul shifts the focus from personal relationships to life within the Christian community. At the center of chapter 8 is a challenging question: What matters more, exercising our freedom or protecting the faith of others? While the issue in Corinth involved food sacrificed to idols, Paul reveals a deeper principle that still confronts the church today: knowledge alone can inflate the ego, but love builds up the body of Christ. True maturity is not measured by how much we know, but by how faithfully we love. You’ll discover why freedom without love can wound others, how conscience must be protected, and what it means to willingly lay down your rights for the spiritual growth of fellow believers. This conversation invites us to examine whether our lives are marked by proving we are right or by helping others grow in Christ. In this episode, we explore: • Why knowledge must always be governed by love • The difference between knowing about God and being known by Him • How past spiritual bondage can still shape a believer’s conscience • When Christian freedom becomes a stumbling block • Why wounding another believer is a serious spiritual matter • What our willingness to sacrifice reveals about our maturity • How discipleship is about building people up, not winning arguments 1 Corinthians 8 reminds us that the goal of the Christian life is not simply being right — it is becoming people who love well. When love leads, freedom serves, consciences are protected, and the church becomes a place of safety, healing, and growth. Listen now and ask yourself: Are my choices strengthening the faith of others? Truth grows when it’s shared — send this to someone you love. May God richly bless you. | 1/29/26 | ![]() Sexuality, Singleness, Marriage, Divorce | RIOT Podcast | Sexuality, Singleness, Marriage, Divorce is the topic that will be discussed today on RIOT Podcast, a Christian Discipleship Podcast. What Does Undivided Devotion to Christ Really Look Like? In this week’s episode, we continue our journey through 1 Corinthians, turning to one of Paul’s most practical and misunderstood chapters 1 Corinthians 7. Writing to believers living in a sexually confused, morally compromised culture, Paul addresses real-life questions about marriage, singleness, sexuality, divorce, and calling. His goal isn’t to impose rules, but to form mature disciples with undivided devotion to Christ—right in the middle of a broken world. Building on last week’s discussion from 1 Corinthians 6, where we saw that our bodies belong to the Lord, Paul now shows us how grace doesn’t lower God’s standards—it empowers us to live them faithfully in whatever season God has placed us. In this episode, we explore: Why marriage is God’s design for intimacy, holiness, and partnership How love in marriage is marked by mutual self-giving, not control Why spiritual devotion should strengthen—not strain—marital unity How God’s grace can sanctify a home even when only one spouse believes Why God calls His people to peace, not coercion or guilt How your worth in Christ is not defined by marital status or past decisions Why singleness is a gift, not a deficiency, allowing undivided devotion to the Lord How living in light of eternity reshapes our priorities, relationships, and freedom Paul’s message is both freeing and challenging: Marriage is a calling. Singleness is a calling. Faithfulness is the calling. Whether married or single, Paul’s ultimate aim is the same—for believers to live wisely, faithfully, and without distraction, with Christ at the center of everything. | 1/8/26 | ![]() Stop Living Like You’re Still Under the World’s Authority | RIOT Podcast | Stop Living Like You’re Still Under the World’s Authority is the topic that will be discussed today on RIOT Podcast, a Christian Discipleship Podcast. Paul says, ‘Such were some of you.’ Are you still introducing yourself by the sins God has already moved into your past, or are you living from your new identity as ‘washed and justified’? In this week’s episode, we dive deep into 1 Corinthians 6, where the Apostle Paul challenges the church in Corinth—and us—to stop outsourcing our lives to worldly systems. Building off the themes of holiness and church purity in Chapter 5, Paul moves the conversation from the “why” to the “how.” How do we treat each other? How do we view our legal rights? And most importantly, who actually owns our bodies? Paul makes it clear: holiness isn’t just a moral checklist; it’s an essential part of our identity as the people of God. ? What We’re Discussing: Kingdom Authority vs. Worldly Courts: Why do we trust secular systems to resolve spiritual disputes? Paul reminds us that as co-rulers with Christ, we must learn to live from an eternal perspective rather than immediate personal advantage. The Power of Being “Wronged”: The world tells us to protect our rights at all costs, but the Gospel calls us to the “cross-shaped life.” What happens to our witness when we prioritize winning over reflecting Christ? Identity Over Lifestyle: We break down the heavy language in verses 9-11. Paul isn’t just listing sins; he’s describing a past life. We explore the Greek context of malakoi and arsenokoitai and why “such were some of you” are the most powerful words in the text. Washed, Sanctified, Justified: If God has already completed these actions in us, why are we still living under the weight of shame and effort? ? Reflection Question: Paul asks, “Why not rather be wronged?” Is there an area in your life right now where you are fighting for your “rights” at the expense of your witness? | — | ||||||
