About this episode

The episode features a remaking of the 2005 film 'The Fog' using the TTRPG Ten Candles, set in a haunted town with dark secrets.

The Fog (1980) is one of John Carpenter's middling outings, but it's not a terrible choice for a cozy soft-horror night in. But its 2005 remake is unmitigated torture. So we're remaking a terrible remake of a sorta-mediocre movie with Ten Candles, a TTRPG that uses ten real candles that snuff out one by one until the doomed characters are enveloped in darkness. It's 1980 in Antonio Bay, Oregon, a lakeside town founded by the passengers of the Elizabeth Dane 200 years ago. On the eve of the bicentennial celebration, a thick gray fog with swirling white whisps rolls across the town, and then chaos erupts. Town council members Sunday Smelt (also the local radio DJ), Mayor Trudy Roberts, and descendant of the town founders Beatrice Bradshaw each harbor a secret grudge against another, but find themselves fleeing the unnatural fog and crazed residents together. This is a remastered recording of a previous livestream on the One Shot Podcast Network Twitch channel. Content Warnings: Profanity, violence, gun violence, drowning, death Featuring Fiona Howat from What Am I Rolling? as Mayor Trudy Roberts and Laurel Myler from Flash Fantasy as Sunday Smelt! Also starring Jensie as Beatrice…
