| 6/20/26 | ![]() Grace To The Finish : A Panel Discussion On Immigration Advocacy | There is currently an estimated 12-14 million law abiding immigrants in the US, living in fear. Not knowing if they will be taken away from their families or forced into a detention center. Someone you know is afraid to travel, to work to even go on a trail race or run, not knowing if they will be safe, even though they are legal and have done nothing wrong. Because of the color of their skin and the way they speak, they have been told they are not good enough, they are criminals and they don't belong. This is dehumanizing...and this must stop. This is a special panel discussion for the Grace To The Finish campaign. Grace To The Finish was started by Joey Metzger and Neeraj Egbert as an awareness campaign to raise support for immigration advocacy, inclusion and anti-discrimination, especially among the running and trail running communities. We are here to allow voices to be heard and steer supporters to relevant organization, causes and efforts that can help make a difference. Besides Joey and Neeraj, the panel includes Carolina Rubio-MacWright, founder of Touching Land, Cristina Regalado, co-founder of Wasatch Trail Collective and former board member of the Women of the Wasatch, Francisco Segovia, Executive Director of COPAL MN and Jason Bahamundi, owner and founder of The Everyday Athlete Podcast Network and RunTriBike. It's time to speak up, it's time to listen, and it's time to take action.Grace To The Finish website: https://www.gracetothefinish.org/Carolina on IG: https://www.instagram.com/stories/carustol/Touching Land : https://www.touchingland.org/Cristina on IG: https://www.instagram.com/stories/runchachi/Wasatch Trail Collective: https://linktr.ee/wasatchtrailscollectiveWomen of the Wasatch: https://www.womenofthewasatch.com/Francisco Segovia (COPAL): https://copalmn.org/leadership-and-staff/francisco-segovia/COPAL on IG: https://www.instagram.com/mncopal/Jason Bahamundi on IG: https://www.instagram.com/cooktraineatrace/Run.Tri.Bike : https://runtrimag.com/Everyday Athlete Podcast on IG: https://www.instagram.com/everyday_athlete_podcast_ntwrk/Neeraj on IG: https://www.instagram.com/egbertne47/https://openingdoorsinc.org/https://immigrantdefensenetwork.org/https://www.crc4me.org/https://www.immigrationadvocates.org/Running Behind Podcast on IG: https://www.instagram.com/running.behind_pod/ | — | |
| 6/15/26 | ![]() Lindsay Teague : Running Her Life & Burning The Ships | 2.7 million likes...just let that sink in for a minute. I mean, I am happy with a handful of views, a couple of likes, but my guest today takes that to a whole new level. Lindsay Teague, or Linz or Run.This.Life as she's known on social media has a huge following and with good reason. The best part though, is that she doesn't make all those posts for the attention. She does it because she genuinely LOVES running, she loves sharing about it, and she believes that fitness should come from a place of celebration. It is exactly that positive attitude and dedication that has led her to complete multiple 100 mile races. In this conversation we get to know Linz...how she got started running, and what inspires and drives her to push for more. Hey if this chat were a run, it would be one of those great runs in the forest finding new trails and discovering amazing sights, all while getting in a good workout. So, if you are heading out for that great run, grab your phone to take a shot or two for IG, and just one pole, cuz it's time to hit the trail.Linz on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@run.this.lifeLinz on IG: https://www.instagram.com/run.this.lifeOne of my fav posts: https://www.instagram.com/p/DY0WpzlPw1y/Linz on FB: https://www.facebook.com/people/RunThisLife/61571763113788/Linz on Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/23404266Revolution Running: https://revolutionrunning.net/Coach Dan England: https://www.adventuresinengland.com/Ultra Running Magazine: https://ultrarunning.com/Joey's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Run_Joey_RunRunning Behind on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/running.behind_podJoey's Strava Profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/111237895Artwork by Ed Linder | — | |
| 6/5/26 | ![]() Suzy Lurie: FKTs, OMGs And DFL At Cocodona 250 | Picture the scene...It's the finish line of the 2026 Cocodona 250 mile race. Everyone is celebrating and going crazy. Overall race winner, Rachel Entrekin is there and she is embracing my guest, Suzy Lurie...Now, did Suzy come in 2nd or 3rd...well, not exactly. Suzy is used to setting FKTs (Fastest Known Times) at various places in her home state of MN. Isn't it ironic then, that her claim to fame happens when she finishes the longest race of her career and comes in last. But coming in last cannot stop the insatiable energy, enthusiasm and excitedness that is UltraSuzy. In this episode we chat about how she got her start, what led to her deciding to toe the line at the 2026 Cocodona 250, and the incredible stories and dramas that unfolded along the way. And we also discuss her complete infatuation with the Elm Creek Backyard Ultra and Afton 50K races. So, strap on those Zegama 2s, grab your anchor airpods and head out for your run, cuz it's time to hit the trailSuzy's FKTs: https://fastestknowntime.com/athlete/suzy-lurieSuzy on Strava: https://www.strava.com/athletes/102412799Cocodona 250 website: https://www.aravaiparunning.com/cocodona/Heated Rivalry TV show: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heated_RivalryJoey's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Run_Joey_RunRunning Behind on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/running.behind_podJoey's Strava Profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/111237895Artwork by Ed Linder | — | |
| 5/29/26 | ![]() Heather Vinge Hanson : Flourishing Through The Fire | Heather Vinge Hanson is a MN trail runner, and in 2025 Heather ran several marathon or longer distances, including her first 50K race. She does all that, while dealing with a multitude of chronic conditions and syndromes. Everything from gastro-intestinal disorders, to Ehlers Danlos to Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia , and that is after battling an eating disorder for many years. This is someone who has been in the fire, and she is not just surviving, but flourishing through it. It no surprise that TerraLoco, the great footwear and sporting store in Rochester, MN, began sponsoring her as an athlete last year. In this conversation, we go through her history of discovering and dealing with her many chronic conditions, her love of trail running and her current achievements and futuregoals. And stayed tuned after the episode for another edition of Running Out Loud, where I feature another Joe Hardin piece called The Miles Provide. So, strap in and lace up for a nice long run today, and don’t forget your ‘power object’, be it guitar or vest, but let’s get going, it’s time to hit the trail.Heather on IG: https://www.instagram.com/chronic.runner.mn/Heather on Threads: https://www.threads.com/@chronic.runner.mnInfo on Ehlers Danlos Hypermobile syndrome: https://www.ehlers-danlos.com/heds/TerraLoco (Heather's sponsor): https://runterraloco.com/Info on "Fire - Every Step Counts" the film: https://www.thepicklejuiceproject.com/Heather's coach (Fly Free Run) website: https://flyfreerunandwellness.issacertifiedtrainer.com/Joe Hardin's "The Miles Provide" on Substack: https://substack.com/inbox/post/195253072Joe Hardin on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/trail_tortoise_running/Joey's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Run_Joey_RunRunning Behind on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/running.behind_podJoey's Strava Profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/111237895Artwork by Ed Linder | — | |
| 5/11/26 | ![]() Crew Access Vol 6 : Storm The Park Edition | Today is another Crew Access episode with Mario and Erik, and this is a special one. This is Crew access, Storm The Park edition. The three of us headed down to White Water state park and did the 15K at Storm Sporting Events Storm The Park trail race. We weren’t there to worry about pace or effort, just to hang out with friends, explore the trails at a beautiful place and enjoy the day and great event put on by Mandy and Bill Hansel. We recorded this the next day and talk through our favorite parts of the event, our challenges and how I nearly broke my ankle and fell off the cliff just by stepping aside for some two-way traffic. And I even include a mini interview I recorded that day with the race director Mandy Hansel. So strap up those Mount To coast H1's, grab your gloves if it colder than 40, and don’t forget your bottle or flask (Erik), but it’s time to hit the trail.Storm The Park Trail Race: https://www.stormsportingevents.org/event-details/storm-the-parkStorm Sporting Events: https://www.stormsportingevents.org/Joey's Storm The Park 30K Strava file from 2023: https://www.strava.com/activities/8955070415Joey's Storm The Park 15K Strava file from 2026: https://www.strava.com/activities/18174559294Erik's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mr_spiegs/Mario's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/stories/runmariorun91/Joey's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Run_Joey_RunRunning Behind on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/running.behind_podJoey's Strava Profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/111237895Artwork by Ed Linder | — | |
| 4/19/26 | ![]() Erin Shaw : Planning, Persevering & The Capes of Wrath | Erin Shaw, by her own admission, is not fast. She has come in last more than once, she has been cutoff more than once, she has just made the cutoff with 8 minutes to spare, more than once, but Erin gets it done and she savors the moments along the way. Whether it’s taking on multiple-day trail races in rugged backcountry areas like the Scottish highlands, or battling cancer and coming out the other side with a new perspective and priority on life, my guest today has learned that “the only way IS through” and that nearly anything can be accomplished with planning, and persevering. In this conversation, we learn how she discovered trail running and adventures like Cape Wrath, how she navigated a breast cancer diagnosis, and how she has learned that she is capable of more than she knows and that she can help others to realize that as well. And stayed tuned after the conversation for another installment of Running Out Loud, where I share a piece by Nikita Gill called “The Ocean In You”. | 4/5/26 | ![]() Kevin Swift : Swifty Runs The 50, YouTube & Backyard Ultra 101 | Anyone remember the old days when you had to go to the library, to find the information you needed? These days, a simple Google search or a look on YouTube and you can usually find it. I began posting videos on YouTube as a reference for folks to see trail races, courses, areas and experiences, and to show my family and friends what I was up to. Well, so did my guest today, Kevin Swift. Kevin, aka SWIFTY, did not come to running until a little bit later in life, but once he did, he was hooked. The races became longer and the adventures became more involved. Eventually he found himself on a quest to run races in all 50 states, and with a YouTube channel to boot. We go through all of that, discuss his drumming in bands and rock & roll dreams, and top it off with a backyard ultra 101 session, where we are joined by Mario and Erik to answer all of his questions. So, grab those brooks, some sunscreen, and your camera (or drum sticks), cuz it’s time to hit the trail.Kevin's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@kevins1775Mainly Marathon's website: https://mainlymarathons.com/Kevin's band Six Figure Sunrise FB page: https://www.facebook.com/sixfiguresunrise/Kevin's music with Rox on Apple: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/rox/1824567008Joey's YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/@Run_Joey_RunRunning Behind on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/running.behind_podJoey's Strava Profile: https://www.strava.com/athletes/111237895Artwork by Ed Linder | — |
