About this episode
This episode explores the meaning of truly hearing God through the lens of the Shema prayer.
What does it really mean to hear God? In the Bible, hearing is never passive. To shema is to listen in a way that leads to response, obedience, and life. In this opening sermon of our summer series, we explore the ancient prayer of the Shema — “Hear, O Israel” — and discover why God’s people have always been shaped not just by what they hear, but by whose voice they attend to. In a noisy world full of competing voices, this message invites us to practise attention again — to listen for the voice that gives life, and to respond with trust.
