This Sunday at Destiny Church, we worship together and hear a message all about Salvation — what it means to be saved, what Jesus has done for us, and the difference salvation makes to our lives.Salvation isn’t about religion, earning God’s approval or simply attending church. It is about entering into a real, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through His life, death and resurrection, Jesus secured salvation for us through grace — a gift that we receive through faith.We discover that we are not only saved from sin, judgement and separation from God, but we are also saved for something: life, peace, joy, purpose and destiny. Salvation isn't only about where we go when we die; it transforms our lives here and now.Through the story of Paul and Silas in Acts 16, we're reminded that even in difficult circumstances, God remains our Saviour and rescuer. Their response in prison was to praise God, trusting that somehow He would bring them through.The message finishes with a challenge: Do you know that you are saved? And for those who have lost the excitement they once had in following Jesus, the prayer of Psalm 51 becomes personal again: “Restore to me the joy of your salvation.”

Praise shifts our focus away from ourselves and the other things we can be tempted to put our hope in, and back onto Jesus.The message highlighted five ways praise changes us and our perspective:Praise prevents selfishness — it takes our eyes off ourselves and puts them onto Jesus.Praise is a battle plan — throughout Scripture, God's people praised Him in the middle of battles and impossible situations.Praise replaces negativity and complaining — thanksgiving reminds us of God's goodness even when circumstances are difficult.Praise leads us into an awareness of God's presence — God is already with us, but praise helps us recognise and focus on Him.Praise makes room for the miraculous — like Paul and Silas praising in prison, we can praise God before our circumstances change.The challenge is simple: make the decision to praise the Lord in every situation and make Jesus Lord of every part of your life.
