About this episode

Jaysan Sanjay explores the complex history and significance of cream cheese pie in his family.

Most people have a favorite desert; grandma's apple pie, homemade chocolate chip cookies, you name it. In the case with my family, the favorite desert is cream cheese pie. Join me as I go down the long rabbit hole of the history of the pie in hopes to reveal the truth behind why the pie has taken on such a complex nature after almost 40 years of loyalty. Cream Cheese Pie Recipe: Take 12 oz of cream cheese, 3/4 cup of sugar and blend those to items together. Then add 1 tsp. of vanilla, 1 tsp of lemon juice, 1 egg and mix. Pour into a gram cracker crust and bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Let it cool for 5 minutes. Meanwhile take 1 cup of sour cream 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla and mix together. Spoon onto the warm pie and bake for another 5 minutes. Refrigerate before serving. And enjoy.. You know...if you like that sort of thing.
