| 1/25/22 | ![]() Make Your Habit Satisfying | Today we’re going to talk about how to keep the habits long term and how to make them rewarding. If you want to stick with a habit long term, it must be satisfying, otherwise you will quit and stop doing it. When we were working on getting out of debt, we created many new habits to help us reach our goal. We started eating at home almost all the time, and we hardly ate out. We cut down on our food waste, so we spent less on groceries. We went shopping less, we tried not to buy anything that wasn’t essential. We were able to do this because every month we would make an extra principle payment on our debt with everything extra we saved each month. We were visually tracking our debt payoff and seeing that momentum was exciting and satisfying. And we had accountability through the Debt Dump Challenge to keep us on track.
