About this episode
The episode discusses the trend of hyper-scepticism in the truther movement and its implications for critical thinking.
We get on to pondering the trend toward hyper-scepticism in the truther movement. Has it begun to mirror approaches to knowledge that have been promoted by the woke and those who want to make us fundamentally distrust our own ability to grasp reality, relying instead on a special class of people who can ‘see’ all truth. Has part of the truther movement descended into an exclusive fantasy writer’s club, far to enamoured with the details of its own thought experiments and collectively agree scripts to allow reality, logic, eyewitness testimony and real people into the inner circle? It’s a question worth asking (especially among friends) if we want to stay on track as critical thinkers. “Check yourself before you wreck yourself” as Abi’s Terry would say. Get yourself along to Abi’s Christmas show “A Very Abi Christmas” at the Backyard comedy club on December 7th. Details and booking here . Stop it!
