Enthusiasts linked it to the famous 1561 Nuremberg celestial phenomenon—a historical woodcut depicting an aerial "battle" of spheres, blood-red crosses, cylinders, and rods over the German city. Others tied it to a alleged 1960s sighting by two English police officers, claiming investigative journalist Jeremy Corbell released a still image of it in 2024.
