About this episode

This episode explores the concept of control through a Quantum Psychosomatics lens, focusing on the predictions that underlie controlling behaviors.

Recap: Dismantling Control This week we explored control through a Quantum Psychosomatics lens, shifting the focus away from behavior and toward the prediction underneath it. Control is rarely about power. More often, it is a strategy the nervous system develops to reduce uncertainty and maintain coherence. What appears as perfectionism, overthinking, people-pleasing, hypervigilance, or micromanagement is often an attempt to prevent a feared outcome from occurring. The key insight: Control is not the pattern. Control is the solution the system created for the pattern. Instead of asking, "Why am I controlling?" we asked: "What prediction is my need for control protecting?" This question reveals the architecture beneath the behavior. Common predictions include: If I don't manage everything, something bad will happen. I am responsible for other people's outcomes. Uncertainty is dangerous. No one is coming to help. Relaxation is unsafe. Once the prediction becomes visible, the next question emerges: "What assignment made that prediction necessary?" The goal is not to force surrender or eliminate control. The goal is to update the model generating the need for control in the first…
