Good morning, this is your Surf Zone Forecast for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands, brought to you by the National Weather Service in San Juan. Let's break down what's happening across our beaches this week, starting with the northern zones. San Juan and the surrounding beaches are looking pretty chill today with around three feet of surf and low rip current risk. You'll catch mostly sunny skies with just isolated showers, so it's a solid day to get out there. East winds will be light, running five to ten miles per hour. Thursday picks up a bit with scattered showers and a few isolated thunderstorms rolling through, but the surf stays consistent at three feet. Come Friday, we're looking at three-foot waves with partly sunny conditions and scattered showers. By Saturday, the surf bumps up to around four feet with mostly sunny skies and just isolated showers. Sunday settles back down to three feet with more sun than clouds. Over in the northeast, around Luquillo and Fajardo, expect similar conditions through the week. Three-foot surf dominates today through Friday, then Saturday brings us up to four feet.
