About this episode
The episode provides a surf forecast for Florida, highlighting beautiful conditions for Friday and warnings about high rip currents expected on Saturday.
Good morning, this is your surf zone forecast for west central and southwest Florida brought to you by the National Weather Service Tampa Bay. Let's dive right in. Today is shaping up to be a beautiful day across all our beaches. If you're heading out to the water, expect small surf with heights at one foot or less, and rip current risks staying low. The water is warm, sitting in the mid to upper seventies depending on where you are along the coast. Temperatures will reach the upper seventies to lower eighties, and we're looking at mostly sunny skies through the afternoon before some clouds roll in later. Winds will be light, coming from the west to southwest at five to ten miles per hour. One important note if you're spending the day on the beach, the UV index is extreme, so get that sunscreen on and reapply often. Tonight, expect mostly cloudy skies to develop as low temperatures settle into the lower seventies. Winds will remain light from the southwest around ten miles per hour. Surf heights stay minimal at one foot or less, and rip current risk remains low. It's going to be a pleasant evening at the beach or just enjoying the coastal breeze. Now, here's where things change…
