Good morning, this is your West Central and Southwest Florida Surf Zone Forecast for Monday, April 27th through Tuesday, April 28th. Across all beaches from Cedar Key down through the Fort Myers area, we're looking at absolutely stellar conditions today. High pressure is firmly in control, bringing mostly sunny to sunny skies, light northeast winds around five to ten miles per hour, and water temperatures hovering in the comfortable mid-seventies. Surf heights are minimal at one foot or less, which means the waves won't be putting on much of a show, but the calm conditions are perfect if you're planning to get out on the water for paddling, swimming, or just soaking up some rays. Speaking of which, make sure you've got your sunscreen handy. The UV index is very high today, so even though you might feel comfortable in the water, those rays are working hard on your skin. Highs will range from the upper seventies up in the Levy and Citrus County area to the mid-eighties down in Charlotte and Lee Counties, so it'll be a warm and pleasant day across the board.
