Good morning, this is your West Central and Southwest Florida surf zone forecast for Monday, May 4th through Tuesday, May 5th. If you're planning to hit the water today, conditions are looking absolutely beautiful across the board. We're expecting mostly sunny to partly sunny skies with highs in the upper seventies to mid eighties depending on your location. The northern zones will top out around 77, while areas down around Sarasota and Fort Myers Beach will reach the low to mid eighties. Winds will be generally light, starting out of the northeast at 10 to 15 miles per hour before shifting westerly this afternoon, so you might want to get out there sooner rather than later. Water temperatures are sitting nicely in the upper seventies, perfect for a comfortable dip. However, if you're sensitive to the sun, keep in mind we've got a very high UV index today, so don't forget that sunscreen. The surf itself is going to be minimal throughout the region, with heights consistently at one foot or less.
