About this episode
The episode discusses Apple's recycling program for old electronic devices.
Techstination, your destination for gadgets and gear. I’m Fred Fishkin. Have a drawer or shoebox full of old cell phones or other electronic gadgets? Apple is reminding us all that they should be recycled….if they can’t be put to use by a family member or friend. Lauren Braun, senior manager for environmental product marketing…says Apple takes trade ins, or… “If you truly have something that’s ancient and is at the end of its life, we’ll also recycle it for free. So you can take it into an Apple store or, again, mail it in and we will take things that people don’t imagine. Phones, laptops, headphones, even if they’re not from Apple. Plus accessories, cases, cables and more. We’ll recycle that all in an environmentally friendly way.” They can help to ensure personal data is wiped too. More info? Head to Apple.com/recycle.
