They also discuss parenting styles, car accidents, and the latest chapters of Black Clover and My Hero Academia. Luffy got the powers of the Toon Force and the One Piece community is up in arms. Which side are you on? We're here for a good time and not a long one in this episode. We might have made a mistake not making Ranking of Kings a contender for Anime of the Year. We're back after the AfrOtaku Awards for our first episode of the New Year and we got a lot to talk about. You might think Goku is the strongest character out there but we got a few characters who would body him. We're back! I hope you all enjoyed the AfrOtaku Awards and all the winners but it's time to get back to the podcast. In this episode, we got a lot of blerd news to cover(8:44). It's here the 2020 AfrOtaku Awards its time for us to celebrate and roast everything good and bad in the Otaku world this year. Thank you to all the fans that continue to listen, comment, support, and engage with our content and we got so much more to bring you in 2021. 2020 was a not the easiest year but Anime/Manga still came with the heat. Whether it was the anime debut of Jujutsu Kasien, the consistent quality of anime like Fire Force, or sleepers like Darwins Game and Talentless Nana. We all had our fair share of anime to watch and enjoy this year. And the manga got something to say also. Series like Black Clover, Attack on Titan, One Piece, Mash: Magic and Muscles, and so much more have been providing amazing content this year as well. But with the good also comes the bad. Whether it's the disappointing season of Baki, or the Todoroki family and the pro heroes in My Hero Academia we have had our fair share of content that needs to get roasted. This year was a mixed bag but our Anime and Manga awards attempt to provide a safe space for everyone to vent about everything they loved and hated about 2020. We're talking Isekai's in this episode in particular I think we make a good case that Ainz Ooal Gown and the Tomb of Nazarick might be the strongest cast in the Isekai genre(66:43). That's not all we talk about though. MGG's theory about Dabi may have been wrong but we the Horokoshi had a horrible roll-out on this reveal(102:18). As always we have to talk about the anime communities most slept on series Black Clover(91:36). The anime gave us some insight into the power levels of the captains and the manga is still hitting hard with some major reveals and power ups for Asta. We finally have a story time Player 5 shares an intimate experience with a little spice(0:28).
