| 5/12/25 | ![]() Why Andor Is the Star Wars Show We Needed | In this episode of The Blerd Wire, we break down the first half of Andor and why it’s striking a chord with longtime Star Wars fans—especially those who grew up on the prequels and The Clone Wars. Is Andor too slow for mainstream audiences, or is it the gritty, political Star Wars drama we’ve been waiting for? I share my generational perspective on Andor, Star Wars storytelling, and why Disney needs to rethink how it targets different fanbases. | — | ||||||
| 11/17/24 | ![]() Fixing The Multiverse Saga: Loki | Today we're continuing to fix the multiverse saga with Loki! As most people did, we found this series to be incredible and the best way to fix is to pretty much leave it exactly the same. Here's our official synopsis: | — | ||||||
| 10/31/24 | ![]() Snowpiercer - Movie Review | With AMC series Snowpiercer starring Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly reaching its final season, we're taking a look at the film that preceded the series, 2014's Snowpiercer. The film featured an incredible cast with Tilda Swinton, Ed Harris, Octavia Spencer and of course, Chris Evans whose newest movie Red One, with Dwayne Johnson is due out this November. So let us know what you think about the film, whether you think it's good or better than the series! | — | ||||||
| 10/25/24 | ![]() Fixing The Multiverse Saga: Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings | So today we're continuing to fix the multiverse saga, and this time, with Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. But as it turns out, this movie needs no fixing! Honestly the best thing this film could do is stay exactly the way it is. For us, it was one of the strongest entries in the Multiverse Saga and fits perfectly into the overall story. So here's our synopsis and spoiler alert - there's no change to it! Wenwu aka, the Mandarin was a ruthless, immortal warlord empowered by his Ten Rings. But when he meets a woman from mystical village Tao Lao, he gives up his rings and empire for a happy family life. When she's killed by thugs from his past, he returns to his old ways and trains his son, Shang Chi, to be a killer from age 7. At 14, he sends Shang Chi to avenge her, but Shang Chi stays and hides in America after the kill brings no closure. Years later, he & his friend Katy are whisked back into his old world when his father sends assassins to take he and his sister, Xi Xialing's pendants. Wenwu captures them at Xi's illegal fighting club and takes them back to his compound where he reveals the pendants will help him rescue their dead mother from Tao Lao. He threatens to destroy Tao Lao so Shang Chi, Katy and Xu Xialing escape the compound with some help from an impriosned Trevor Slattery to go defend it. In Tao Lao, Shang-Chi's aunt reveals Wenwu is being tricked by trapped Dweller-In-Darkness monster. Shang Chi defeats Wenwu, but not before the monster is freed. Wenwu gives Shang-Chi the rings before the monster kills Wenwu, and Shang-Chi and the Great Protector Dragon destroy the Dweller-In-Darkness. End credits: Xialing takes over Ten Rings Wong shows Shang Chi and Katy that the Rings appear to send some cosmic beacon | — | ||||||
| 10/23/24 | ![]() Knull Theory For Venom: The Last Dance | So here's my official theory about Knull for Tom Hardy's Venom: The Last Dance. Let me know what you guys think!I think Knull came from the MCU as the personification of darkness and was brought into existence as a god-like being when the Celestials brought matter and energy to his side of the universe. He settles on a planet, names it Klyntar and creates the symbiotes. However, a Celestial emerged through his planet, completely destroying everything on it. So he angrily creates All-Black The Necrosword and beheads that Celestial, who would become Knowhere. I think Arishem and the other Celestials separated him from the Necrosword and then banished him to the Sony verse. Venom in Venom: The Last Dance is his key to return to the MCU and enact his vengeance on all the Celestials. | — | ||||||
| 10/10/24 | ![]() Fixing The Multiverse Saga: Wandavision | We're continuing our series on fixing the multiverse saga and today we're looking at the first TV show to hit Disney+, Wandavision. The series of course stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Teyonah Parish as Monica Rambeau, Kat Jennings reprising her role as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park reprising his role as FBI agent Jimmy Woo and of course, Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness, who's currently starring alongside Aubrey Plaza in Disney's Agatha All Along. Here's a plot synopsis of how we would have written Wandavision to make the multiverse saga a little more connected. | — | ||||||
| 9/20/24 | ![]() Fixing The Multiverse Saga: Black Widow | Today I'm starting a new series where we try to fix the Multiverse Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. First up is Black Widow, and the main change here is Taskmaster. Instead of Taskmaster being just a mindless slave to Ivan Dreykov, Taskmaster is actually going to be the one who resurrects the Red Room after she grows up. Her photokinetic abilities would be genetic rather than programmed. In the comics Taskmaster is a great villain and honestly, the original Black Widow ruined them. So we fix that here, Taskmaster has her own autonomy and is the main antagonist of this movie, using her father's mind control formula. What do you think? Would this have worked? Did you like the original Taskmaster in the Black Widow movie? | — | ||||||
| 9/17/24 | ![]() Alien: Romulus vs. Prey - Movie Review | Today we're pitting two of the latest movies in the Alien and Predator franchises, pitting them against each other, Alien vs Predator style. Ever since Sigourney Weaver and Arnold Schwarzenegger made Alien and Predator iconic films, the franchises have spewed a total of 14 movies, including two crossovers. With Fede Alvarez' Alien: Romulus starring Isabela Merced the latest offering in the franchise, we're comparing it to 2022's Prey starring Amber Midthunder and whether think each franchise will continue to pump out films. | — | ||||||
| 9/14/24 | ![]() Sony Reveals The Main Villain of Venom: The Last Dance - Reaction | Sony has officially revealed the main villain of Tom Hardy's Venom: The Last Dance will indeed be the symbiote God, Knull. In the comics, Knull is an extremely powerful threat to multiple Marvel teams like the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and Midnight Suns. So here's our reaction to it and whether we think it'll make a significant impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. | — | ||||||
