Drawing on the allure of Los Angeles and looking back at her time in New York, the new release is an intimate exploration of loneliness and revival between two loving partners. ‘Woke Up In LA’ speaks to the loneliness of moving to a new city, leaving all your friends and life behind and not having a support system in place. The feeling of being entirely alone, while surrounded by crowds. The isolation can be so palpable that you wish you were anywhere but here.
