Secret Pour-igins: Blue cocktails Cocktail: The Blue Beast Blue Beast Syrup recipe Add 2 cups water to pot and heat on low Stir in 1 cup sugar Squeeze 1 lemon and 1 orange into pot and stir Remove from heat and let cool Add 3 drops of blue food coloring and stir Place in container or cup and set aside COCKTAIL Ingredients (per drink): 1½ oz. Vodka ½ oz triple sec 1 oz. Blue Beast syrup 1 oz. Fresh lemon juice 2 sprig of mint Seltzer or Sprite Instructions (per drink) Add mint sprig and lemon juice to shaker Muddle mint lightly Add vodka, triple sec, Blue Beast Syrup, and ice to shaker Shake and strain into Collins glass filled with ice Top with seltzer or sprite Garnish with mint MOCKTAIL Ingredients (per drink): 1 oz. Blue Beast syrup 1 oz. Fresh lemon juice 2 sprig of mint Seltzer or Sprite Instructions (per drink) Add mint sprig and lemon juice to shaker Muddle mint lightly Add Blue Beast Syrup, and ice to shaker Shake and strain into Collins glass filled with ice Fill with seltzer or sprite Garnish with mint Comic: The Mighty Avengers vol.1 #167, Marvel Comics, 1977 Have a question or comment? Secret Pour-igins: Drinking at Christmas Cocktail: Yoo-Hoo-ltide Ingredients 2 oz Baileys Irish Cream 1 oz vodka 4 to 5 oz Yoo Hoo 1 candy cane Chocolate syrup Nutmeg Instructions Crush candy cane and put pieces on a small plate Pour chocolate syrup on separate small plate Rim your cocktail glass with chocolate syrup Then roll rim of glass into crushed candy cane and set aside Pour Baileys, Vodka, Yoo Hoo into a shaker with ice Shake for 10-20 seconds Strain into rimmed cocktail glass neat or on the rocks Sprinkle nutmeg on top and be merry! Ingredients 1/2 oz. Lemon Juice 3 dashes Aromatic Bitters  to 10 Mint Leaves 2 Lemon Wheels Ginger Beer Garnish Lemon Twist Mint Sprig Instructions In glass add five to ten mint leaves, 2 lemon wheels, ½ oz. lemon juice, and 3 dashes of bitters. Ingredients 1 teaspoon sugar 3 dashes Angostura bitters 1 teaspoon water 2 ounces bourbon (RAY is using bourbon and BRETT is using rye) Garnish Orange twist Instructions Add the sugar and bitters into a mixing glass, then add the water, and muddle until the sugar is nearly dissolved Fill the mixing glass with ice, add the bourbon, and stir until well-chilled. Join us in the Fantasti-Lounge as we discuss The Thing as Blackbeard, vacation drinks, Doctor Doom’s chess set, how many times you should wear a pair of pants before you wash them, and much, much more! Secret Pour-igins: Caribbean Rum Punch Cocktail: Blackbeard’s Rum Punch Ingredients (per drink) 3 ounces of pineapple juice 2 ounces of orange juice ½ lime 1 oz dark rum 1 oz spiced rum (or white rum if you prefer) 1 splash of grenadine Garnish Lime slices Orange wheel Maraschino Cherry Instructions In a shaker, add the pineapple juice, orange juice, lime juice, and rums. Give it a shake and strain into rocks-filled glass. (If you don’t have a shaker, pour directly into glass with ice and stir) Slowly pour in a splash of grenadine over a spoon that is upside down with the tip against the inside of the glass. The grenadine will sink to the bottom. Splash 1/2 ounce of the dark rum on the top (optional). Garnish with a slice of lime, an orange wheel and a maraschino cherry.
