| 4/28/26 | 143 - Omen Foils - Greg Falck | One of our most requested interviewee's for a while now, we finally managed to all organise a time to chat.We don't see much/any Omen here in the UK but we're very much aware of it's presence - and Greg has cemented himself as one of those foil brands thats worth listening to. His Youtube presence has been solid since the beginning and even Liam and I have learnt a lot by listening to him explain the likes of mast shims in easy and precise language on the internet - well worth a watch if you haven't already.Enjoy the chat - its a lengthy one, and Liam and Greg really dive into the tech! We're still blaming a slow start to the year for our lack of episodes.... but I understand its now nigh on May!! You'll be happy to hear the suns out here in the UK, the winds been stonking and Liam and I have both had some awesome sessions - which means chatting about said sessions can only be a short time away. | — | ||||||
| 3/31/26 | 142 - Dave Kalama | When Gabriella Bella messages you to say that Dave Kalama wants to come on the podcast, you don't quite know what to believe. April fool's?! Cruel joke set up by the X Foils podcast? A messenger from someone Freddie's offended. What neither of us expected was that he was a semi regular listener and was keen for a chinwag. It is fair to say that we both thoroughly enjored the oppurtunity to share a conversation with this watersports legend and think we made the most of it!We hope you enjoy this one....if you don't, we'd may as well sack it all in! | — | ||||||
| 3/24/26 | 141 - Dane Wilson | Videographer extraordinaire, Dane WilsonWe met Dane for the first time last year when we were forced 'last minute' to MC his and Josh Ku's latest video escapades from Bali in Hood River. Turns out he's been involved with a fair few of our favourite foiling footage over the last few years - so we were keen to learn more. This is what its all about - enthusiasm and enjoyment. Thanks to Dane for taking the time - we look forward to catching up again in real time, now we're better acquainted! If you like what we're doing, check out https://buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast to support. We're hoping to use the funds to buy beers in both America and Australia later this year.... God knows those Aussie beers are expensive. | — | ||||||
| 3/3/26 | 140 - A Session Debrief and the F-One Titan2 | We've been quiet - its been a slow start to the year for both of us. But here we are, back with a nice new episode for all to hear.Liams bought a house and is spending his days rubbing the walls down with sand paper, so he's been far too pre-occupied to talk foiling. Coupled with the constant rain and lack of motivation to get out, we haven't actually foiled until this sunday just gone - my first session since NZ!So, we dissect a session and some more new kit as always, and we also put some thoughts down on this fancy new Titan2 system F-One have been getting some grief for. They're opinions, but they're fun ones.Hope everyones been getting out and about more than us! | — | ||||||
| 2/16/26 | 139 - Edo Tanas Joins Slingshot | The start of the year is always a fun one with regards shakes up in the industry. One such shake up was hearing that Edo was leaving F-one after a very successful couple years working with the brand. Where would he end up going? It might have come as a surprise to hear he was going to be working alongside the Slingshot guys - but I recon once you've listened to what the man himself has to say you'll understand the decision completely.A young man at the pinnacle of his discipline meets a young team with a tonne of potential at a brand with a strong heritage - we look forward to seeing where that can go! | — | ||||||
| 2/10/26 | 138 - Ken Adgate & Kyle Touhey - Who doesn't want to own a Ken Adgate board? It seems one of the big brands were asking the same question! | FOILING NNEEEEWWWWWWSSSSZ! This is big!In this episode Liam sits down with Ken Adgate and Kyle Touhey...funnily enough, they talk about boards. The boys have wanted to have this catch up for a long time to review Liam's most recent DIY board project which they provided the shape for, but it got pushed quickly to the top of the to do list when we found out that one of the big dog foil brands were bringing the guy's most recent design concept to production. This is something I'm so stoked to see come to fruition and it is something that, now the wheels are in motion, I can't help being surprised it didn't happen sooner. Anyway, listen along to hear what they've been up to. We hope you enjoy the episode. | — | ||||||
| 2/2/26 | 137 - Freddies Kiwi Experience | Freddie went to New Zealand and had a great time - if thats all you need to hear, then maybe give this episode a miss....If not, we delve into his time down under and the many multiple sessions had one many multiple discipline while down there. Some lovely chat on Parawangs too....Get signed up to the newsletter if you aren't already, we send one every second Wednesday and they're a good bit of a laugh - some fun photos and content we maybe can't/won't share to le publicCheck out the website to sign up - https://genericfoilingpod.com/ | — | ||||||
| 1/19/26 | 136 - Kane De Wilde - KT Foiling | Kane De Wilde - Foiling extraordinaire and designer for KT foiling. This was a really enjoyable relaxed episode with Kane in which you get a sense about the man behind the riding and design. We cover a wide range of topics including:- Hollow board construction and comaprisons- Hawaii downwind race series & racing mindset- His personal design philosophies- Why he rides such a wide array of equipment and gets so creative with his riding.- Favourite pizza toppingsThere was some sort of audio interferance going on during recording unfortuantely which I've done my best to remove in the edit, sorry if you notice that and it affects the listening experience. We hope you enjoy the episode. | — | ||||||
| 1/5/26 | 135 - Jorrit Buurma | Finally - we hear you say!The lesser known Buurma brother - hiding away in Portugal running the factory and surfing every dayWieger and Jorrit run and operate Appletree themselves - but Wieger has been the face of the brand online for a while now. As soon as we met Jorrit in 2024 we knew we had to chuck him in the limelight a little too - he’s too funny to sit in the background. We recorded this in his office, after hours in the Appletree factory while on a lads trip to Portugal with some friends. We discuss their new Radix mast connection concept system, upcoming hollow board projects and delve into the new finishing products they’re now using. It’s techy but enjoyable - a pleasure to listen back to!If you like what we’re doing- check out buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast to support with beers, or checkout the Website in the bio to buy tee’s and beanies! | — | ||||||
| 12/23/25 | 134 - WangLordz Christmas Special - 3rd Edition | 3rd times a charm they say! Back in Richies hot tub, post session together and pre party (which got a bit loose) This year we delved relatively deep into actual foiling stuff which might be a surprise and of some interest. There is an awful lot of nonsense too though...Been looking forward to doing this for a long time - it’s a great tradition we’ve started for ourselves and long may it continue. It’s been a busy year for all and it’s been a while since the four of us sat down at all - perhaps we need to prioritise doing this more often, even without the mics!Enjoy the ridiculousness of this latest episode of nonsense. We hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and we’ll see you in the New Year! | — | ||||||

| 12/8/25 | 132 - 'A Venison Lasagne' | Liam and Freddie have interviews in the bank but pushed back the releases because they wanted a chat. It's a bloody good job they did, as they manifested a new Woo World Record! Have a listen and see what we mean. This was recorded on Thur 04/12/2025 2 days before Hugo Wigglesworth recorded a 40m jump on the WOO!!!If you've got this far reading the episode description, you're clearly into GFP, so consider going to the website www.genericfoilingpod.com and signing up to our newsletter. He is one of those individuals that people instinctively know to pay attention to and listen to.As well as hearing about the all-new FUSION system (and some complimentary product releases that are still to be released!), you'll get to know the real Paul Martin (Mr Egg) even better. | 11/3/25 | 128 - Adrian Roper - AXIS Foils | Welcome back Adrian Roper of AXIS Foils - the man who still holds the mantle for the most listened to podcast we've ever done - from 2 years ago!We were already keen to chat to Adrian about the mountain of new innovations that seem to be hitting the market soon from AXIS - but before we had a chance to ask, he cornered us in the carpark of the Hatch to ask us exactly the same.It was hard to miss the hype around the brand at the AWSI show this year - there was a hive of activity around the stand the whole time we were there, and its also been very apparent from the downwind race season this year that AXIS had some pretty impressive kit on the way.So, we let Adrian bring over all these new bits to show us through. Hopefully at some point we'll put some video up from it, because as you'll hear - he's man handling kit the entire episode. Frank even joins us at the end to discuss their relationship for a few minutes as well.Podcast aside - we've been busy squirelling away on a couple bits. A great chat with Jeff Logosz, CEO of the brand - sat in the Offices in Hood River during our trip to the states.Liam and I loved this one - coming from a kite background we loved hearing about the days where it all began. We’ve also managed to nab some foils off Sam Light in the UK since we got home and Liams been spending a good bit of time on the One-Lock system. We hear the story of how Jon went from Team Ripper right up to Chairman of the Board. We were excited for this one having heard murmurings of a connection between Cabrinha and Mikes Lab for their new foil range connection system - we had to find out the truth!Had to put the second and third photos up alongside..... | 10/6/25 | 123 - Ewan Jaspan - NAISH Parawing and Kite Lead Designer | Having invaded his home in Hood River, commandeered his wifi, made cups of English tea, used his electricity to top up the airbeds, charged all electronic devices, and had a good poo, we figured we ought to sit down and do a podcast with the man of the hour, Ewan Jaspan. Ewan has been on Freddie and Liam's radar for decades as a professional kiteboarding athlete, pioneer amongst both the freestyle and wakestyle, and a standout filmmaker. Whilst he still pushes hard on the kite, he has been as hooked by foiling as the rest of us and rarely a windy day at the hatchery will go by without him sending a few laps with a paddle or parawing in hand.Nowadays Ewan is the lead parawing and kite designer for Naish who will soon by release the appropriately named 'Hatch' parawing. This is his baby from start to finish and is a firm favourite amongst those locals lucky enough to have experienced the prototype iterations through its development. It is a product we are excited to see hit the market. We hope you enjoy what we do. Rate us 5 stars on the podcast platforms, subscribe to our YouTube which now has some cool videos on there and send us a few quid on www.buymeacoffee.com/gfpodcast so we can keep doing trips and bringing you content recorded face-to-face, which we think produces much better results.Until next time, enjoy! | — | ||||||
| 9/29/25 | 122 - FLITE LAB - Chris Reynolds & Eric Geiselman | The big one! We've given these guys a fair bit of grief over the last 18 months after initially hearing of their release - but we were very happy to sit down with designer extraordinaire, Chris Reynolds to set the story straight and to see how the entire process had come about now the product is on the market!Legenrdary surfer turned foiler Eric Geiselman joins in to then give us his use cases for the FliteLab now its out and how its changed his outlook on prone surf foiling.A great sit down with these guys - and about time too!If you like what you're listening to - this trip wouldn't have been made possible without beer tokens from the listeners - it really opened people up and got them loose lipped! | 9/25/25 | 121 - Wanglordz debrief of AWSI and the Kernow Foil Classic | The Wanglordz haven’t sat down together since Christmas can you believe! Well, last year we never really deconstructed our first trip to America with the guys and Liam and I felt like maybe we’d missed a trick there - so we pushed to get the guys up to answer any questions they might’ve had about our trip this yearWe also needed time to discuss Chris’s up and coming event - now in its third year - the Kernow Foil Classic. Liam and I are really looking forward to this time of year as everyone congregates down on Cornish beaches to ride together, compete and socialise afterwards. This year, for 5 days!Once you’ve had a listen, go check out @kernowfoilclassic , sign up and come down even just to hang out - its gonna be a 'doozy'. 1-5th October - not long now! | — | ||||||
| 9/22/25 | 120 - Paul Cooper | Please welcome, THE foil assist athlete - Paul Cooper. It’s a wonder we’ve made it this long without chatting to Paul before, but we were very glad to finally sit down and chat all things Foildrive and surf foil. Paul’s been around a while now in foiling, converting pretty much entirely to Foildrive use in the surf - and you must have seen his air’s in the waves by now. Freddie especially was very keen to chat about his favourite foiling movie, the Bali movie which Paul was in charge of a year or so ago - another one worth watching if you haven’t already! There’s also big chat here about how much it would take to get Freddie to try nail a backflip on a wing. Give it a listen for the value - I don’t think it’s unachievable at all. If anyone wants to stump up the cashola - I’ll nail that backflip to a wall! | — | ||||||
| 9/13/25 | 119 - Gabriel Verrier-Paquette - Slingshot Designer | We sat down with Gabe, Designer at Slingshot. He is one of a team of designers/engineers and focuses on wing, parawing and board design. Between our conversation with Gabe and chat with Bobby not too long ago, it feels like Slingshot have an exciting mix of fresh engineers and established experience and I’m excited to see what other innovations come out in the coming years. We talked about the following (in no particular order):- Would a scaled down aeroplane design foil?! - What his design process/data collection system looks like?- How the slingshot parawing design is progressing- Parawing and wing material science- Long term durability and water retention potential of parawings- The implication of Alula on wing designs- How has One-Lock gone down?- Production board construction- What he is most proud of- Artistic design vs optimisation- Biggest screw up- Room 101!- and much much more!
