| 6/24/26 | ![]() #541 The Leadership Echo Chamber: The Risk of Artificial Agreement | Niels Brabandt EMBA MBA MSc | In this episode, Niels Brabandt EMBA MBA MSc examines one of the most underestimated leadership risks in the age of artificial intelligence: the leadership echo chamber. AI can help leaders challenge assumptions, improve decisions, and prepare more effectively. Yet when used without professional training, structure, or critical discipline, it can also create artificial agreement. Leaders may believe AI validates their view, when in reality they have prompted it to agree with them. This episode explores why AI availability creates a new behavioural trap for executives, how leaders can move from yes people to yes algorithms, why large language models should not be mistaken for human reasoning, and how decision-makers can use AI as assisted intelligence rather than a digital confirmation machine. Niels Brabandt discusses the need for professional AI qualification, evidence-based leadership practice, and better prompting methods that ask AI to identify gaps, risks, counterarguments, and missing evidence. The episode is designed for business decision-makers who want to use AI responsibly, improve decision quality, and avoid turning technology into a more sophisticated echo chamber. Listen to this episode if you work in leadership, management, organisational development, transformation, HR, strategy, or executive decision-making and want a practical, high-level perspective on AI, critical thinking, and sustainable leadership. | 6/24/26 | ![]() #540 Essential Leadership: Marc Inzelstein interviewed by Niels Brabandt | In this episode, Niels Brabandt interviews Marc Inzelstein about essential leadership, the limits of control, and the leadership paradigm behind L.O.V.E.: letting go, oneness, vision, and energy. Drawing on Marc Inzelstein's work as an executive adviser and author, the conversation explores why traditional command-and-control thinking is no longer sufficient in a brittle, anxious, non-linear, and incomprehensible world. Marc Inzelstein explains why leaders must move from the illusion of control to coherence, why human connection is central to sustainable performance, and why the leadership heartset matters as much as the leadership mindset. Niels Brabandt guides the discussion towards the practical implications for executives, managers, and decision-makers who want to lead with clarity, resilience, and impact in turbulent times. This episode is essential listening for business leaders, HR executives, leadership development professionals, founders, consultants, and decision-makers who want to understand how essential leadership can create trust, energy, and sustainable organisational performance. | 6/24/26 | ![]() #539 Building Culture the NASA Way - Brady Pyle interviewed by Niels Brabandt | In this leadership interview, Niels Brabandt speaks with Brady Pyle, retired NASA HR executive, Chief HR and Inclusion Officer at Space Center Houston, and author of Building Culture the NASA Way: Mission Critical Principles for Creating an Organization's Culture. Brady Pyle explains how NASA moved from good engagement scores to significantly stronger results by becoming intentional about culture, listening to employees, focusing on a critical few improvements, involving employee teams in solutions, and communicating visible progress back to the workforce. The conversation explores why organisations collect engagement data but fail to act on it, why culture cannot be delegated to HR, why leadership development is a must-have, and how the 70-20-10 model can help leaders grow through experience, mentoring, coaching, and formal learning. Niels Brabandt and Brady Pyle also discuss inclusion, innovation, organisational arrogance, lessons following the Columbia accident, benchmarking, continuous improvement, and how organisations can sustain culture momentum when daily business returns. This episode is essential listening for executives, HR leaders, business decision-makers, public service leaders, nonprofit leaders, leadership development professionals, consultants, coaches, and anyone responsible for building a stronger organisational culture. | 6/24/26 | ![]() #538 AI and Learning: No Adult Left Behind - George Pillari interviewed by Niels Brabandt | In this leadership interview, Niels Brabandt speaks with George Pillari about AI, adult learning, productivity, career resilience, and the central message of Pillari's book No Adult Left Behind. George Pillari explains why many capable adults risk being left behind as artificial intelligence becomes embedded in everyday work. He discusses the fear that AI will replace jobs, the practical benefits of using AI for presentations, CVs, job applications, technical problems, and industry understanding, and the need for adults to build confidence through direct use. The conversation also explores AI in medicine, aviation, autonomous cars, military systems, and the hidden risk of skills erosion when humans rely too heavily on automation. Niels Brabandt and George Pillari discuss why leaders must create accessible learning pathways rather than leaving AI adoption to chance. This episode is essential listening for business decision-makers, executives, HR leaders, learning and development professionals, transformation teams, consultants, coaches, and anyone responsible for helping adults use AI responsibly and effectively. | 6/17/26 | #537 The Pseudo Criticism Problem: Why Leaders Ask for Feedback and Then Punish It - with Niels Brabandt EMBA MBA MSc | Many organisations claim to be open to criticism. They say feedback is welcome, voices should be heard, and criticism helps the business grow. Yet in practice, employees who raise uncomfortable issues are often sidelined, corrected, ignored or punished. In this episode, leadership expert Niels Brabandt analyses what he calls the pseudo criticism problem: the gap between performative openness and real accountability. Niels Brabandt explains why criticism is one of the most valuable sources of organisational intelligence, especially because employees closest to the work often understand client developments, operational problems, process failures and leadership weaknesses before senior executives do. The episode explores why some leaders only welcome criticism when it blames someone else, why low self-reflection weakens leadership, and why insider deals and cliques can destroy honest feedback cultures. This episode also examines the limits of feedback. Criticism is not automatically correct simply because it is voiced. Serious leadership requires a fair process, evidence, context and the right to respond. However, when leaders use power, hierarchy or polite phrases such as "I hear you" to avoid action, they damage trust and undermine organisational performance. Niels Brabandt sets out a practical leadership agenda for decision-makers: build awareness, create credible feedback processes, protect people who speak up, connect leadership evaluation to consequences, and turn criticism into action. For executives, founders, board members, HR leaders and senior managers, this episode is a clear reminder: criticism is not the problem. The real problem is asking for criticism while refusing to act on it. | 6/17/26 | ![]() #536 Business Travel and Security: Former CIA Officer Charles Goslin interviewed by Niels Brabandt | In this leadership podcast episode, Niels Brabandt interviews Charles Goslin, a former CIA officer, retired intelligence professional and international security consultant, about business travel and security. The conversation explores why travel risk is not only a personal concern, but a leadership issue for organisations, executives, HR, risk management and business decision-makers. Charles Goslin explains why personal security during travel is less about fear and more about awareness and preparation. Drawing on more than 40 years of international intelligence and travel experience, he describes the arc of travel: before the journey, during the journey and at the destination. Each stage requires preparation, judgement and practical awareness. Niels Brabandt and Charles Goslin discuss vulnerable travellers, including families with children, migrants, LGBTQ travellers and elderly travellers. They also examine why experienced business travellers can still become vulnerable through complacency, stress, timing and social engineering. The episode also addresses cyber risk. Charles Goslin highlights that modern travellers carry two personas: a physical persona and an electronic persona. For organisations, this means that smartphones, laptops, accounts, documents and access credentials are part of the travel security equation. This interview is essential listening for executives, business owners, HR leaders, risk managers, security professionals, consultants and all decision-makers responsible for duty of care, business continuity and sustainable leadership.
