The Longhorns' defense took care of business and kept the potent South Carolina offense in check, while the offense was able to weather the third quarter explosion from the Gamecocks to come away with the win.The men didn't have as much success, dropping both games a week ago -- something that put their postseason hopes in jeopardy as they head into a pair of games against top 25 teams.

The No. 5 Texas Longhorns women's basketball team continued their hot streak with another undefeated week, capped by a dominant win over rival Texas A&M. It sets up a pivotal week for the conference title, capped by a rematch with No. 2 South Carolina. On the men's side, they dropped a last-second game against Ole Miss but rebounded with a lopsided win over the LSU Tigers. They continue to get hot at the right time and rise up the rankings, positioning themselves for a run at the NCAA Tournament.

The No. 5 Texas Longhorns had a winning game plan in one of the only games they were at a talent disadvantage this year but couldn't make enough plays to overcome the No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes. Defensively, Texas had a clear plan to shut down the high-powered Buckeyes and executed it to perfection for most of the game, save for one major breakdown that ended up creating a deficit for Texas. Offensively, they struggled with the athleticism of Ohio State, but nearly put together enough to get the job done - with a trip to the red zone once again being the Longhorns' Kryptonite.
