We talked with A. Nathan Scott, a NYC-based composer, producer, and Twitch streamer, discusses his journey from playing bass in rural Colorado to building a sustainable freelance music career producing musical acts and commercial work, including video game scoring and more. Alex grew up in his dad's recording studio (his dad is a 6 time Grammy nominated artist), started bass at 11, and went full-time in music by 2010. He answered a Craigslist ad for a touring funk band and within months, was on the road playing a jazz fest in New Orleans. At his peak, he was doing 260 shows a year, working with 40+ different artists, covering everything from country gigs to Sublime tribute tours. He couldn't say no to work. Eventually, burnout hit.
