| 1/9/26 | ![]() What beliefs define Christianity? - Questions Series Ep. 1 | We are starting a new series for the Spring of 2026, and it's a little new to us!Usually, we walk through books of the Bible. However, this spring we wanted to try something different. We asked the youth to submit questions that they'd like to have answered on a Wednesday night, and boy did they deliver! So now, instead of doing a book, we are going to be answering 13 questions that the youth have submitted to talk about at youth group. And we are starting off with a doozy:What beliefs define a Christian? And along with that, what are the salvation issues? So, if you've ever wondered, "what do I have to believe in order to be a Christian?" This episode is for you! We're glad you're here, let's get into it! | 37m 19s | ||||||
| 11/7/25 | ![]() What “Grumbling” Actually Means - Jude Series Ep. 6 | Jude has been making the same point with different nuances for the past few weeks: God will judge ungodly teachers. This week is no different, as he makes a reference to the Book of Enoch. Just like with his other references, he adds nuance to this one as well. He says that one of the things that ungodly teachers will do is "grumble and complain".Which begs the question: what does it ACTUALLY mean to grumble?Because in the Old Testament, grumbling was not good! Israel was actually judged for grumbling and complaining. Paul even commands the people of God in the church of Philippi to do everything "without grumbling and complaining".So what's the big deal with grumbling? Have a listen and find out! We're glad you're here! Let's get into it... | 35m 59s | ||||||
| 10/31/25 | ![]() Perpetua - A Moment for the Martyrs Ep. 2 | LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!!!!Join us for our second episode in our series that we're calling "A Moment for the Martyrs", where we take the time to talk about various martyrs throughout Christian history. For October, we are telling the story of Perpetua, a woman of noble descent who had been imprisoned, and subsequently executed, in the city of Carthage in 203 AD, all because she had given her life to Christ. This is despite the fact that she was newly married, had a nursing newborn son, and her father's many opportunities to dissuade her, the ruling authorities attempts to intimidate her, and the devil's schemes to get her to recant.Amidst all of this, Perpetua refused, and boldly went to her death. Why?Because, in her own words, she "could not be anything other than what she was: a Christian."Join us as we explore the incredible story of the Christian Martyr, Perpetua. | 17m 41s | ||||||
| 10/17/25 | ![]() Like a Copperhead in the Grass - Jude Series Ep. 5 | Have you ever seen one of those pictures on the internet of an animal that is perfectly blending into their environment? God is super awesome to design animals to be able to camouflage so well that they are basically invisible to the human eye. The problem is, what if that animal is dangerous? Often times, you don't know it until it's too late...That's what Jude's getting at in today's passage. We're in Jude 8-13, and in it Jude is going to talk about why false teachers are dangerous, and then he'll tell us 7 ways to identify them before it's too late! We're glad you're here! Let's get into it... | 32m 21s | ||||||
| 10/16/25 | ![]() Warnings from the Old Testament (feat. Alison Hurley) - Jude Series Ep. 4 | This week one of our leaders, Alison Hurley, taught on Jude 5-7!This is the first chunk of a pattern in Jude where he tends to rely on Old Testament references to make a point. The question is, what is the point that Jude's trying to make? Tell ya what, I'll let Alison walk you through it ;)We're glad you're here! Let's get into it... | 19m 33s | ||||||
| 10/3/25 | ![]() Do you agonize over the Gospel? - Jude Series Ep. 3 | What do you agonize over?Perhaps you don't like thinking about that because, for most of us in 2025, we don't like the word "agony". But I fully believe that "agonizing" over something doesn't HAVE to be a bad thing. We can agonize over good things as well! That's what Jude is telling us in our passage today. There is something that all Christians all over the world are called to agonize over, and it is the Gospel message. But how can we be expected to agonize over it if, maybe, this is the first time we're even hearing about this concept? And beyond that, why SHOULD we agonize over it?Have a listen and find out! We're glad you're here with us today, let's get into it... | 36m 15s | ||||||
| 9/26/25 | ![]() Bartholomew - A Moment for the Martyrs Ep. 1 | WARNING: LISTENER DISCRETION IS ADVISED!We are beginning our bonus series through the 2025/2026 school year: A Moment for the Martyrs!Once (or sometimes maybe twice) a month we will be telling the story of a different martyr in Christian history. If you don't know what a martyr is, it is someone who has lost their life because of their testimony about Jesus. But something we'll do that's a little different is that we'll actually be telling a story, rather than relaying pure information!Because of this, some creative license will be employed, but I assure you the facts of each story are true (or at least as true as I know lol), and will be included in the episode notes. Today, we are telling the story of Bartholomew! So, who was Bartholomew?-Many scholars believe that Bartholomew was also known as Nathanael. The reason for this belief is that the synoptic Gospels list Bartholomew as one of the 12, but in John's Gospel Bartholomew is missing, and Nathanael is in his place.-Another reason for this belief is that the synoptic Gospels often list Bartholomew and Philip together, implying a very close relationship. In John's Gospel, Philip runs to get Nathanael to introduce him to Jesus. This would make sense if John knew him as Nathanael!-Bartholomew was one of Jesus' 12 disciples, who fled in fear once Jesus was crucified, but suddenly became bold in preaching the Gospel after meeting the risen Jesus.-Church history records Bartholomew traveling to Indian, Mesopotamia, Lycaonia, Phrygia, and finally Armenia.-It was in Armenia that Bartholomew saw thousands come to Christ. It is also in Armenia where he would die at the hands of King Astreges after converting his brother, King-After displaying the power of Jesus in a contest against the priests of Astreges, Astreges ordered that Bartholomew be flayed alive. It is said that Bartholomew continued to preach the Gospel while being flayed alive, and in the days following his martyrdom, even Astreges gave his life to Christ.NOTE: The picture for our podcast episode is a statue created by Marco d'Agrate. It is a statue of the skinned Bartholomew holding his skin, as well as the knife that was used. It's a very powerful image of the story of Bartholomew! | 14m 51s | ||||||
| 9/19/25 | ![]() Pay Attention to Intros! - Jude Series Ep. 2 | Did you know that, when you meet a new person, they formulate an impression of you within the first 5 seconds? That's not a lot of time to communicate information! The Biblical authors know this. That's why it is so important to study how the authors of the letters of the New Testament introduce themselves!Jude is no different. In our second episode in our Jude series, we tackle the first two verses, where Jude's talks about himself, talks about his audience, and tells them what they need as the weather the situation going on in their community. Thanks for being here! Let's get into it... | 37m 13s | ||||||
| 9/12/25 | ![]() Heeeeeey Jude - Jude Series Ep. 1 | We're back at it again with a series through the letter of Jude!Did you even know that there is a book in the Bible entitled "Jude"? I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. It's only 25 verses long, and not many people talk about it! But Jude is a really intriguing "book" (it's actually a "letter!). It is only 25 verses long, yet it's absolutely stuffed to the brim with Old Testament references. It also quotes two books that ARE NOT in the Bible, but it certainly seems like Jude is quoting them as if they are scripture. And who even is Jude to begin with? Why should we listen to him? Why did he even write his letter to begin with? These are all really great questions. These are all questions we answer in our first episode in our Jude series! This episode is where we give you all the relevant historical context you need to know in order to better understand the letter of Jude. We're glad you're here! Let's get into it. | 33m 01s | ||||||
| 5/8/25 | ![]() The Bowls of God's Wrath (feat. Braden Shannon) - Revelation Series Ep. 16 | Alas, we have reached the final set of "7's" in Revelation: the 7 bowls of God's wrath! We've been operating under the idea that each set of 7 (7 seals, 7 trumpets, 7 signs, and 7 bowls) are all talking about the same period of time from different perspectives. Last night, our pastoral intern Braden Shannon walked us through the 7 bowls of God's wrath. It's a heavier section of Revelation, but that doesn't make it any less important for our day to day lives. So have a listen! We're glad you're here! Let's get into it :) | 17m 17s | ||||||
| 4/25/25 | ![]() Satan’s Team and the Mark of the Beast - Revelation Series Ep. 15 | If someone were to ask me, "what is the MOST debated part of the book of Revelation?", I would be very tempted to say Revelation 12-14.Why Revelation 12-14? Because it is here that we see dragons, sea-beasts, earth-beasts, pregnant women clothed with celestial bodies, and probably the MOST debated part of all: the dreaded Mark of the Beast. In this episode of our Revelation series, we are tackling ALL of it! Who or what is the Sea-Beast? What's the deal with the Dragon and the woman? And above all, what is the mark of the beast, and do we have to be worried about taking it?We're glad you're here! Let's get into it :) | 40m 03s | ||||||
| 4/16/25 | ![]() The Two Witnesses - Revelation Series Ep. 14 | There are parts of Revelation that are pretty straightforward. There are other parts that are hotly debated. Our passage for this week is one of the latter! At youth group last week, we tackled what is colloquially called "The Two Witnesses". They are given authority to breathe fire from their mouths to consume their foes, as well as shut up the sky and turn water into blood. Many people believe that Revelation is foretelling two literal witnesses who will appear and do these things. But could it be that something else is going on in this passage? So join us as we talk about "The Two Witnesses"! We're glad you're here, let's get into it :)PS - This is a raw teaching from a Wednesday night youth group! We didn't have time to record this one separately, so you're getting it straight from the pulpit. | 30m 14s | ||||||
