| 9/2/26 | Re-View # 117: USWA TV 1/11/92 ("Rest in Pain") | On Episode #117 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, the gang continues into the second week of the 1992 USWA season with the January 11th episode of USWA Championship Wrestling and this one is all about Corey Maclin flying solo, Brian Christopher finally taking the full heel plunge, Eric Embry spreading his influence all over the show, and the “International Roughnecks” a.k.a the Moondogs making Corey lose his mind on live television. The boys kick things off with some network business, new joke sponsor shirts, and a teaser of Corey Maclin absolutely coming unglued later in the show while trying to deal with Richard Lee and the Moondogs. From there, the episode jumps into the fallout from Brian Christopher’s boxing match with Tony Williams, Bart Sawyer continuing the “Bartman” energy, Jeff Jarrett and Robert Fuller taking aim at the Moondogs, and Tony Falk introducing Miss Jennifer in a segment that goes sideways almost immediately.Episode #117 feels like 1992 USWA is starting to find its direction. Brian Christopher has turned the corner, Eric Embry is suddenly everywhere…again, the Moondogs are getting more dangerous by the week, Robert Fuller is somehow working as a babyface, and Corey Maclin may need hazard pay if Richard Lee keeps bringing those “crazy fools” into the studio.REST IN PAIN indeedIf you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 27m 58s | ||||||
| 8/26/26 | Re-View #116: USWA TV 1/4/92 (New Year, New Kids, Same Moondogs!) | On Episode #116 of the RWR USWA Podcast, Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel kick off Season Three and officially begin the 1992 USWA journey. After wrapping up 1991 with the year end awards, the boys jump right into January 4, 1992 and the new year wastes no time setting the table for a very different kind of USWA.The biggest story of the TV episode is the official breakup or at least the next stage of the breakup of “The New Kids”, Brian Christopher and Tony Williams. Brian doesn’t want to team with Tony, Eddie Marlin forces him to do it anyway, the match falls apart, and then Eddie books the two young partners against each other in a boxing match. Gene, Josh, and BT all get a kick out of Brian’s tantrum, and it becomes one of the first signs that Brian Christopher is starting to find the bratty heel personality that will define him in Memphis. The Moondogs are the other major focus. Their brawl with Jarrett and Fuller feels like a preview of what 1992 USWA is going to become: blood, bones, wild studio chaos, and even Jeff Jarrett swinging steel chairs like he absolutely means it. Gene points out that 1992 is going to feature a lot of Fuller, Lawler, and Jarrett getting into violent fights with the Moondogs and based on this first episode, that may not be a bad thing.Episode #116 is a fun reset point. Spirit of America, Warrior, Gravedigger, and Nate the Rat are all seemingly gone but the show still has Lawler, Jarrett, Fuller, and the familiar Memphis structure, but there’s new energy in the Moondogs feud, Brian Christopher’s character development, Koko B. Ware’s push, and the weird little systems Eddie Marlin keeps inventing to solve problems that only exist in Memphis wrestling.1992 starts here. And apparently, so does the age of “country ass Mr. Belding” (that will make sense once you catch the episode)If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 35m 18s | ||||||
| 8/5/26 | Re-View #115: The 1991 USWA Season Finale & Year End Awards | On Episode #115 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, Brian Tramel, and special guest Brandon Wheeler close the book on the wild, uneven, chaotic, hilarious, and occasionally brilliant year that was USWA Championship Wrestling in 1991. After a full season of weekly Memphis wrestling, it’s time for the crew to look back, hand out awards, argue over bad gimmicks, praise the stuff that still holds up, and get ready for the road into 1992.This is not a normal episode recap. This is the 1991 year end awards show, with categories covering the best, worst, strangest, funniest, and most unforgettable parts of the season. And because this is the USWA Podcast, the whole thing comes with plenty of side roads, running jokes, Corey Maclin love, Brian Christopher memories, Producer Smokey drama, King BT, Intern Benny, and more Memphis weirdness than one show should legally contain. The biggest theme of this finale is simple: 1991 was a roller coaster. This was a year where USWA changed shape more than once. Early in the season, the Texas vs. Tennessee feud gave the promotion a real direction, with Eric Embry, Tom Prichard, Jeff Jarrett, Robert Fuller, Bill Dundee, Danny Davis, Tojo Yamamoto, and the rest of the crew carrying the load for the show. Then the year shifted. New gimmicks came in. Some worked, a lot didn’t and by the end of the year, the Moondogs and Richard Lee were starting to point the whole thing toward 1992.The awards format gives the crew a chance to really step back and judge the season as a whole. Some picks are obvious. Some are personal. Some are just flat out funny. That’s what makes this finale work. It’s funny, but it’s not just jokes. It’s a real look back at a full year of Memphis wrestling: the great stuff, the awful stuff, the confusing stuff, and the stuff only the USWA could have gotten away with putting on television.Episode #115 closes out the 1991 season the right way: with discussions, awards, memories, running jokes, deep cut Memphis references, and a whole lot of excitement for what comes next.Bring on 1992…..in TWO WEEKS! | 7/29/26 | Re-View #114: USWA TV 12/28/91 ("Only the Tiger Knows") | It’s the final stop of 1991 for the RWR USWA Podcast! With Gene Jackson and Producer Smokey away at The Gathering in Charlotte, Brian Tramel takes command alongside Josh Briley and special guest Brandon Wheeler to review the December 28, 1991 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling. The New Kids fall to the Dirty White Boy and the Candyman, but the real story comes after the bell. Brian Christopher has finally had enough. He throws Tony Williams under the bus, declares that losers don’t get money or glory, and demands to compete strictly as a singles wrestler from now on (the heel turn isn’t just simmering anymore).Robert Fuller comes storming back for revenge, dragging Richard Lee into the ring and refusing to back down from the Moondogs. Koko B. Ware makes quick work of the Scorpion, while Dr. Tom Prichard’s match with Doug Masters erupts into complete chaos involving Miss Texas, C.J., Tony Falk, and Bart Sawyer. And then we get Jeff Gaylord, the Sandman, and Jerry Lawler together in the studio. A simple announcement about a double-elimination tournament for a Unified World Title shot turns into one of the strangest and funniest segments of the entire season. Gaylord starts firing off anatomy questions, the Sandman brings his surfboard, and Lawler tries to determine whether either man has a functioning brain (only the Missouri Tiger knows for sure). The Moondogs also destroy T.D. Steele and “Dazzler” Hayes in a brutal closing match, complete with a chair bearing Jeff Jarrett’s name. BT shares some personal background on Ricky “Dazzler” Hayes before the crew reviews the Mid-South Coliseum results, including Lawler winning the tournament and the Moondogs retaining against Jarrett and Fuller. It’s violence, anatomy lessons, questionable mathematics, and glorious Memphis wrestling insanity as RWR closes the book on USWA television for 1991. | 7/22/26 | Re-View #113: USWA TV 12/21/91 ("Brian Christopher IS NOBODY'S JOB BOY!") | On Episode #113 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, the Gangs closes in on the end of 1991 with a show that feels like the ground floor for what 1992 is going to become. Brian Christopher officially turns heel, the Moondogs become the blood soaked monsters who will dominate the next phase of Memphis, Dr. Tom Prichard sends Eric Embry home for Christmas with five piledrivers, Jeff Gaylord returns from whatever time portal he fell into, and the USWA starts setting the table for the first post Christmas Mid-South Coliseum card.Episode #113 is not just another late year USWA episode. It is a key transition point. Plus, Corey Maclin gets heated towards Richard Lee and “his dogs”, T.D. Steel is wearing tights over khaki pants to referee, the “Bartman” has an underwhelming main event against former partner Doug Masters, Dave Brown paints Jeff Jarrett and Robert Fuller as the greatest tag team who ever lived, the logic behind the USWA Top Ten continues to be confusing as ever, and all while B.T. “stirs the ship” this week! This was a sleeper episode you don’t want to skip. There’s a lot of fun to be had here.1991 is almost over, but 1992 is already kicking the door open!If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 36m 30s | ||||||
| 7/15/26 | Re-View #112: USWA 12/14/91 (The "BARTMAN" Breaks Out!) | On Episode #112 of the RWR USWA Podcast, The gang heads back to December 14, 1991, as the USWA starts closing in on the end of 1991 with a show that feels like 1991 Memphis is finally building some momentum again. Bart Sawyer officially steps into babyface “Bartman” mode free from Doug Masters who falls apart on the microphone, Miss Texas makes a wild return, Sandman continues his strange Memphis Tour of Duty, and the Moondogs remain right in the middle of everything. With Producer Smokey on vacation, the boys dive into a packed episode of USWA Championship Wrestling featuring title match confusion, strange mystery partner logic, loaded purses, broken ropes, surfboards, Moondogs, and the promo return of “Rowdy Tommy Piper!Episode #112 is funny, energetic, and full of the kind of oddball Memphis logic that makes this show so much fun to revisit. Bart Sawyer is breaking out, Miss Texas is back, Doug Masters is struggling, Sandman is surfing towards Memphis main events, and the only mystery to Jeff Jarrett’s “Mystery Partner” is why did Jeff Jarrett pick Awesome Kong?!?In other words, the end of 1991 is getting weird in all the right ways, and 1992 is just around the corner! If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 37m 24s | ||||||
| 7/8/26 | Re-View #111: USWA 12/7/91 (The Unified World Title Gets "Helt Up"!) | On Episode #111 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, The gang heads back to December 7, 1991, and for the first time in a while, USWA Championship Wrestling feels like it’s moving in a good direction. The Moondogs are back, Richard Lee is starting to sound like Richard Lee, Kamala finally steps into the TV5 studio, Eric Embry gets a questionable makeover, and the USWA Unified World Title ends up being “helt up” by Frank Morrell in classic Memphis fashion. The boys open the show celebrating the return of Richard Lee and the Moondogs, while also continuing the ongoing mystery of whether Richard Lee is still out there somewhere living his best life. From there, the episode dives into one of the more eventful USWA TVs of late 1991, with Corey Maclin now seemingly locked in as Dave Brown’s new broadcast partner and the territory finally starting to shake off some of the weird dead spots from the previous few weeks. The biggest match of the episode is Jerry Lawler vs. Kamala, and the boys all agree it feels like a major deal for TV. Kamala is not just another random challenger. He comes across as a legitimate monster, and the match gives Lawler the kind of opponent he always worked well against: a huge, dangerous heel that lets him fight from underneath before firing back. The finish is pure Memphis: a fireball, confusion, controversy, Eddie Marlin arguing, Lawler complaining, and the belt getting helt up just long enough to sell a rematch.By the end of the episode, USWA feels like it has finally found some momentum again. The Unified Title is held up, Kamala is back on top of the territory, Embry regains the Southern Title on Monday night, the Moondogs remain tag champs, Sandman cracks Lawler with his surfboard, and "the Bart Man” may actually be turning into somebody Josh wants to see more of.It is messy, illogical, violent, funny, and occasionally ridiculous. In other words, Memphis wrestling is back on track in 1991.If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 46m 02s | ||||||
| 7/1/26 | Re-View #110: USWA 11/30/91 ("You don't have to be ULTIMATE to be a Warrior"....apparently) | Episode #110 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast takes Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel back to the November 30, 1991 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling, and this week the boys are greeted with one of the most questionable “new arrivals” in recent memory: The Warrior — not that Warrior, but the USWA version, who proves that, apparently, you don’t have to be ultimate to be a warrior (even if you use the real Warrior’s image to promote Monday’s show)Corey Maclin is now firmly in the co-host seat alongside Dave Brown, and the show opens with talk of the USWA’s “open door policy” bringing in new and returning talent. Unfortunately, that open door seems to be letting in just about anybody at this point, including a Warrior knockoff, a surfer Sandman, a “Catman”, a Spirit of America, a Candyman, a Gravedigger, and now the returning Moondogs with Richard Lee!The big headline this week is the arrival of The Warrior, who squashes The Scorpion in short order and then cuts a promo telling Tony Falk, “You don’t have to be ultimate just to be a warrior.” The problem, of course, is that USWA also flashes a picture of the real Ultimate Warrior during the card rundown, which sends Gene, Josh, and BT into a full discussion of Memphis logic, copycat gimmicks, and whether this is even more ridiculous than the Lord Humongous/Sid/Randy “He-Man” Lewis bait and switch of several weeks ago. The other major story is the return of the Moondogs. Richard Lee brings them back to Memphis, and they waste no time making an impact.By the end of the episode, Gene, Josh, and BT are fired up about the Moondogs being back, confused by the fake Warrior, entertained by Sandman nearly killing poor T.D. Steel with a kick from the top rope, and still trying to make sense of a USWA that seems to be throwing every gimmick it can find at the wall.It may not be good wrestling every step of the way (it’s definitely not), but it is absolutely memorable Memphis television worth discussing (or at the very least making fun of).If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 49m 44s | ||||||
| 6/24/26 | Re-View #109: USWA 11/23/91 (The Candyman Cometh… Unfortunately) | As we open Episode #109, Corey Maclin is still in the mix alongside Dave Brown, and the USWA seems to be deep in a “throwing s*** at the wall” phase. The Spirit of America is back, the Gravedigger is back, Nate the Rat has money for some reason and is threatening to cremate Jeff Jarrett , Reggie B. Fine has apparently found religion and the board game, Candy Land and has turned into the “Candyman”, and Jerry Lawler is trying to explain a Thanksgiving “turkey match” while wearing one of the ugliest outfits he has ever worn on television.Gene, Josh, and BT spend a lot of time trying to figure out exactly what happened to the show. Not long ago, 1991 USWA felt like one of the strongest runs they had covered, with Eric Embry, Jeff Jarrett, Robert Fuller, Dr. Tom Prichard, Bill Dundee, “Uncle Danny”, and the Texas vs. Tennessee war keeping things moving. Now, suddenly, the show is full of Gravediggers, Candy Men, Spirit of America garbage bags, turkey feathers, blowtorches, weird rankings, and gimmicks that feel more like someone trying to copy WWF without fully understanding why any of it worked. That makes the episode frustrating as wrestling TV, but very funny as podcast material, which will leave you feeling just as “turkeyfied” as Tony Falk when it’s over.Episode #109 is full of bad gimmicks, strange decisions, hilarious commentary, and that very specific kind of Memphis wrestling weirdness where even when the show is falling apart, you still can’t look away (unless your Josh in 1991). | 6/17/26 | Re-View #108: USWA TV 11/16/91 (The Spirit of America Show starring Spirit of America) | Episode #108 takes the Retro USWA Gang back to the November 16, 1991 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling, and if 1991 has been a roller coaster, this one may be the part where the wheels start sparking on the track. Corey Maclin is now back in the co-host chair with Dave Brown, but unfortunately for him, he arrives just in time for one of the strangest episodes of the year. This week’s show introduces not one, but two new gimmicks: The Spirit of America, a red, white, and blue babyface who wants kids to help clean up parks and throw wrestling trash into a 55 gallon drum, and The Gravedigger, a very familiar looking dark character managed by Nate the Rat, complete with body bags, dirt, rats, spooky music, and absolutely zero subtlety.Gene, Josh, and BT spend a good chunk of the episode trying to make sense of how the USWA went from the tighter Eric Embry booked run earlier in the year to this late 1991 parade of gimmicks, green screens, public domain music, trash barrels, body bags, and Toyota sponsored tournament hype. The guys also dig into the question of whether Jerry Lawler’s booking style is starting to show, with big characters and broad gimmicks suddenly taking over the show. The episode is not exactly a glowing review of the television show, but it is a very entertaining breakdown of one of those weeks where Memphis wrestling goes so far into “what were they thinking?” territory that the podcast almost writes itself. Between Spirit of America’s cleanup campaign, The Gravedigger’s Undertaker-adjacent debut, Kamala green screens, numerous Jeff Jarrett promos, and a tournament that feels halfway important and halfway thrown together, there is plenty for the boys to laugh at, question, and dissect. If you’re following the 1991 USWA journey, Episode #108 is a key example of just how weird the promotion gets as the year winds down. It may not be great television, but it is absolutely memorable podcast material. If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 2h 01m 43s | ||||||

| 6/10/26 | Re-View #107: USWA TV 11/9/91 (Meet Billy Joe's SUPER TEAM) | Episode #107 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast takes Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel back to the November 9, 1991 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling, featuring a Dr. Tom Prichard vs. Eric Embry title match live in the studio, along with Billy Joe Travis committing his worst atrocity yet unleashing the “SUPER TEAM” on everyone. At the center of the episode is Dr. Tom Prichard vs. Eric Embry, a match that looks great on paper because both guys can absolutely work, but also comes with all the baggage of where Embry is in the promotion at this point and how the USWA is trying to position everybody heading into the next phase of the story. This is one of those episodes where the talent list is stronger than the actual direction of the show. There are plenty of names worth watching, but the bigger fun comes from the podcast gang trying to figure out what the promotion is building toward, what still works, what already feels tired, and what somehow remains entertaining in spite of itself. If you’re following the 1991 USWA journey, Episode #107 is another important stop in the march through late year Memphis madness with Prichard, Embry, Gaylord, Travis, Dirty White Boy, Jarrett, Masters, and Sawyer all part of the mix as the territory keeps pushing forward one chaotic Saturday morning at a time.If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 47m 21s | ||||||
| 6/3/26 | Re-View #106: USWA TV 11/2/91 (FLEA COMES HOME) | Episode #106 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast takes the gang back to the November 2, 1991 episode of USWA Championship Wrestling, and somehow the show manages to bring both good news and awful news at the exact same time. The good news? Corey Maclin is back at the desk with Dave Brown, and Gene could not be happier. The bad news? Well… just about everything else is fighting uphill. This week’s USWA TV features Doug Masters and Bart Sawyer continuing their push as new heel challengers to Jeff Jarrett and Robert Fuller, though the guys still aren’t completely sold on Masters, Sawyer, or the way the “Bartman” act is being used. Meanwhile, Billy Joe Travis returns with a new hired gun after last week’s masked man experiment goes nowhere, and this time he brings in “The Missouri Tiger” Jeff Gaylord to challenge Jerry Lawler for the Unified World Title, and when Jeff Gaylord is the top challenger for Jerry Lawler’s Unified title, these are time so hard that Dusty Rhodes couldn’t ever relate to them. Meanwhile, Dog of War is still here patiently waiting for Jimmy Valiant to bring back, “Flea”……and sadly it appears the “Freezer Thompson Experiment” is reaching it’s conclusion. This episode is peak “we’re just trying to survive this stretch of Memphis TV” energy: bad booking, funny promos that shouldn’t be funny, attempts at funny promos that aren’t, confusing angles, and three hosts doing their best to make sense of whatever the USWA thought this was supposed to be.If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 48m 47s | ||||||
| 5/27/26 | Re-View #105: USWA 10/26/91 (The Texas Bunch Falls Apart) | Episode #105 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast takes Gene, Josh, Brian, and their old pal Richard who makes a surprise “one off” return this week back to October 26, 1991 as they break down a show built around some major storyline shifts, questionable new arrivals, and a whole lot of “what the hell are we doing here?”The big story is the official split between Eric Embry and Dr. Tom Prichard, as the Texas Bunch finally falls apart after Prichard repeatedly nails Embry during the six-man tag from the Mid-South Coliseum. From there, Dr. Tom cuts one of the most fascinating promos of this 1991 run, openly addressing accusations that he sounds like a “cheap Roddy Piper imitation,” while also explaining why he’s done being Embry’s stooge.Meanwhile, Jerry Lawler and Billy Joe Travis continue their feud after Lawler throws fire at Billy Joe in the Coliseum. Unfortunately for Billy Joe, the aftermath includes one of the least convincing “burned face” sell jobs you’ll ever see, followed by the arrival of a mysterious masked man who may or may not be The Snowman (he’s not)Also this week:Doug Masters debuts his new partner, Bart Sawyer and the gang is underwhelmedFreezer Thompson continues his strange babyface mini/sorta pushDog of War is still looking for Flea and Jimmy ValiantPlus! We hear from “Memaw” for the first time in MONTHS!This is one of those episodes where the review may be more entertaining than the wrestling show itself with plenty of Memphis confusion, bad booking decisions, questionable promos, and the return of Richard Mullikin at exactly the right time for listeners and wrong time for his sanity! If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 53m 10s | ||||||
| 5/20/26 | Re-View #104: USWA 10/19/91 (Dave's Not Here, Man) | Episode #104 of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast takes Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel back to October 19, 1991, and this week’s USWA Championship Wrestling is… well, let’s just say Dave Brown picked a hell of a week to go on vacation. With Michael St. John flying solo at the desk, the show opens with a highlight reel of Eric Embry absolutely abusing Eddie Marlin, setting the stage for a big six-man tag at the Mid-South Coliseum:Eddie Marlin, Jeff Jarrett & Robert Fuller vs. Eric Embry, Dr. Tom Prichard & Tony Falk.Eddie Marlin promises he may be past his prime, but if he can just bust Embry in the mouth one time, it’ll all be worth it. Meanwhile, Jarrett makes yet another dramatic promise, Robert Fuller fires everybody up, and Embry’s crew continues to stir the pot.The guys break down the episode segment-by-segment, including why Freezer Thompson’s mini-push actually works, why the Dog of War angle feels like it’s wandering into very dangerous territory, and why Billy Joe Travis may be becoming one of the most polarizing figures on the entire Retro Wrestling Archive Network. It’s another strange, funny, frustrating, and somehow still entertaining week of early-90s Memphis wrestling. If you love USWA chaos, Mid-South Coliseum build, Eric Embry madness, Lawler promos, Billy Joe Travis drama, and three guys trying to make sense of Memphis logic in real time… this one is for you.If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 31m 12s | ||||||

| 3/11/26 | Re-View #94: USWA 8/17/91 (Honey Love Presents: The Dragon Master) | This week, the Retro Re-View Gang break down one of the most bizarrely entertaining episodes of USWA TV in recent memory featuring gimmick changes, booking head scratchers, heated rivalries, and the unforgettable arrival of a certain “Honey”-voiced manager. On this episode:- MC Slammer is born – Brickhouse Brown trades in the tough guy persona for a rap gimmick that leaves the studio crowd underwhelmed to say the least....- Lord Humongous… but which one? – A Sid Vicious highlight reel is followed by a noticeably less “humongous” in-studio version, leading to one of the strangest bait and switch moments in Memphis TV history.- Bill Dundee vs. Danny Davis escalates – A simple question (“Are we still friends?”) turns into punches, pride, and a no pinfall stipulation that cranks up the intensity. - Jeff Jarrett & Eric Embry’s war continues – Fireballs, blood, shaved heads, and a Lights Out match looming at the Mid-South Coliseum. - Enter Christopher Love (“Honey…”) and the Dragon Master – The Dawn of Bert Prentice in Memphis, and a 7'3" monster allegedly coming for Jerry Lawler. - Handsome Jimmy Valiant returns to challenge for the Southern Title. - And yes… that fireball botch gets discussed. As always, they break it down segment by segment, looking at what worked, what didn’t, and what in the world they were thinking. If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 38m 10s | ||||||
| 3/4/26 | Re-View #93: USWA 8/10/91 (The Godfather & his Goon Squad) | This week on the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, we head back to August 10, 1991, and what starts as a fairly standard Memphis TV episode quickly turns into one of the more chaotic, heated hours we’ve seen in weeks.Fresh off “Homecoming ’91,” Eddie Marlin announces a Lights Out match for the Mid-South Coliseum featuring:- Dirty White Boy & Dirty White Girl vs. Eric Embry & Miss Texas- No DQ, No Time Limit- LOSER GETS THEIR HEAD SHAVEDEmbry immediately threatens to “make Eddie Marlin pay with his life” (again), because subtlety is overrated. The Goon Squad Arrives- Boss Winters reinvents himself as “The Godfather” and unveils his newest creation… The Goon Squad. The real meat of this episode?- Bill Dundee and Danny Davis take their fractured friendship to another level. The Light Heavyweight Title now carries a $40,000 Japan payday attached to it and suddenly this isn’t about friendship or belts anymore. Dundee calls Davis greedy. Davis calls Dundee a backbiter. What started as mutual respect turns into one of the most emotionally real promos we’ve seen in months. This was Memphis storytelling at its best.Plus We Discuss:Why Memphis constantly undercut its own stipulationsThe long-term damage of not paying off angles and delivering finishesWhether Dirty White Boy was legitimately injured?Awesome Kong vs. Freezer Thompson II (the rematch nobody asked for)And Dave Brown absolutely not tolerating nonsense this weekEpisode #93 delivers chaos, emotional storytelling, and one of the most talked about punches of the year. And yes… we spend entirely too much time talking about The Goon Squad. If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 45m 42s | ||||||
