What Goes Down This Week:Dirty White Boy kicks things off in dominant fashion with a brutal reverse lariat finish Jeff Jarrett officially ditches Ronnie P. Gossett (comparing him to a septic tank) and brings in Eddie Marlin—to absolutely ZERO crowd reaction Eric Embry continues to spiral, cutting another intense promo while the Tom Prichard storyline quietly builds in the background Tojo Yamamoto absolutely CRACKS Dutch with the flagpole in one of the stiffest shots we’ve seen on the show Embry follows it up by choking Eddie Marlin with his own tie, turning his face beet red Billy Joe Travis delivers an all-time bad musical performance… then makes up for it by obliterating Chris Frazier with a guitar shotThrow in a bullwhip and Jerry Lawler plugging a celebrity softball game with Ernest P. Worrell and you’ve got a perfectly chaotic, "know whatta mean, Vern?"Plus… Episode 100 Celebration The guys reflect on 100 episodes of the podcast How the show has grown from bad audio setups to moderately better audio setups Listener feedback, inside jokes, and what keeps this show so damn fun to do every week This is Memphis rasslin: Fun. | 4/15/26 | Re-View #99: USWA 9/14/91 (CHAOS builds before Episode 100!) | Episode #99 might be one of the most frustratingly entertaining episodes we’ve covered because for every great Memphis idea… there’s something that makes you go, “WHY would you do that?!”And we go IN on all of it. We break down one of the most chaotic and uneven episodes of USWA TV ever, where incredible angles collide with head scratching decisions. You'll get: A deeper look at the Christopher Love / Ronnie P. Gossett feud, including why Gossett might be the most hateable (and divisive) guy on the show The full rant on Bert Prentice attacking Michael St. John and why the follow up makes absolutely no sense Extended discussion on Jerry Lawler no selling the guitar shot and how it completely undercuts the Guitar Lumberjack stipulation More breakdown of the insane studio brawl...who was involved, what worked, and what turned into total chaos Thoughts on Billy Joe Travis’ gimmick, Honey Love’s segments, and why some of this feels like it’s teetering between genius and disasterIf you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 43m 34s | ||||||

| 3/11/26 | Re-View #94: USWA 8/17/91 (Honey Love Presents: The Dragon Master) | This week, the Retro Re-View Gang break down one of the most bizarrely entertaining episodes of USWA TV in recent memory featuring gimmick changes, booking head scratchers, heated rivalries, and the unforgettable arrival of a certain “Honey”-voiced manager. On this episode:- MC Slammer is born – Brickhouse Brown trades in the tough guy persona for a rap gimmick that leaves the studio crowd underwhelmed to say the least....- Lord Humongous… but which one? – A Sid Vicious highlight reel is followed by a noticeably less “humongous” in-studio version, leading to one of the strangest bait and switch moments in Memphis TV history.- Bill Dundee vs. Danny Davis escalates – A simple question (“Are we still friends?”) turns into punches, pride, and a no pinfall stipulation that cranks up the intensity. - Jeff Jarrett & Eric Embry’s war continues – Fireballs, blood, shaved heads, and a Lights Out match looming at the Mid-South Coliseum. - Enter Christopher Love (“Honey…”) and the Dragon Master – The Dawn of Bert Prentice in Memphis, and a 7'3" monster allegedly coming for Jerry Lawler. - Handsome Jimmy Valiant returns to challenge for the Southern Title. - And yes… that fireball botch gets discussed. As always, they break it down segment by segment, looking at what worked, what didn’t, and what in the world they were thinking. If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 38m 10s | ||||||
| 3/4/26 | Re-View #93: USWA 8/10/91 (The Godfather & his Goon Squad) | This week on the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, we head back to August 10, 1991, and what starts as a fairly standard Memphis TV episode quickly turns into one of the more chaotic, heated hours we’ve seen in weeks.Fresh off “Homecoming ’91,” Eddie Marlin announces a Lights Out match for the Mid-South Coliseum featuring:- Dirty White Boy & Dirty White Girl vs. Eric Embry & Miss Texas- No DQ, No Time Limit- LOSER GETS THEIR HEAD SHAVEDEmbry immediately threatens to “make Eddie Marlin pay with his life” (again), because subtlety is overrated. The Goon Squad Arrives- Boss Winters reinvents himself as “The Godfather” and unveils his newest creation… The Goon Squad. The real meat of this episode?- Bill Dundee and Danny Davis take their fractured friendship to another level. The Light Heavyweight Title now carries a $40,000 Japan payday attached to it and suddenly this isn’t about friendship or belts anymore. Dundee calls Davis greedy. Davis calls Dundee a backbiter. What started as mutual respect turns into one of the most emotionally real promos we’ve seen in months. This was Memphis storytelling at its best.Plus We Discuss:Why Memphis constantly undercut its own stipulationsThe long-term damage of not paying off angles and delivering finishesWhether Dirty White Boy was legitimately injured?Awesome Kong vs. Freezer Thompson II (the rematch nobody asked for)And Dave Brown absolutely not tolerating nonsense this weekEpisode #93 delivers chaos, emotional storytelling, and one of the most talked about punches of the year. And yes… we spend entirely too much time talking about The Goon Squad. If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 45m 42s | ||||||
| 2/25/26 | Re-View #92: USWA 8/3/91 (Friends Today... Enemies Monday Night!) | The USWA rolls into August 1991 and things are about as calm and sensible as a chainsaw wielding maniac running loose in Memphis… which is to say, not calm at all. Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel dive into another wild Saturday morning episode of USWA Championship Wrestling featuring one of the most bizarre (and oddly unforgettable) stretches of television the territory ever produced.Leatherface continues terrorizing the promotion, complete with homemade horror movie vignettes that somehow managed to both scare kids and confuse grown adults while Jerry Lawler shifts his focus from championship gold to settling personal scores once and for all.Eric Embry melts down over Cousin Harold, tag team champions Jeff Jarrett and Robert Fuller deliver another history lesson disguised as a promo while everyone "enjoys" their "Walking in Memphis" video....again, and the Dirty White Boy and Dirty White Girl promise yet another Back Alley Street Brawl where somebody might wind up leaving the building without their dignity… or their clothes.Add in the debut of a mysterious challenger named Sampson, Reggie B. Fine stealing every second of television time he’s given, and one of the greatest “friends… until we’re not” promos you’ll ever see unfold between "Superstar" Bill Dundee and "Nightmare" Danny Davis and you’ve got peak USWA fun! This week’s discussion covers one of the most memorable stretches of early-’90s USWA TV, highlighted by violent studio chaos, controversial stipulations, and the constant balancing act between spectacle and storytelling that defined the era.On this episode:The fallout from recent studio chaos involving Jerry Lawler, Eric Embry, and Leatherface, including one of the wildest chainsaw angles ever attempted on Memphis TVThe infamous desk destruction segment and how it looked terrifying as a kid but hilarious in hindsightLawler’s reaction to the chaos and the moment the angle nearly went off the rails when the chainsaw malfunctionedThe continued blending of fear-based monster gimmicks with classic Memphis style storytellingWhy Memphis could get away with angles this insane and why fans bought into it anywayThe episode also dives into the broader landscape around this time period:Nashville Fairgrounds and Monday night Mid-South Coliseum resultsThe revolving door of talent including names like Rob Van Dam, Chris Candido, Sabu, and others passing through the territoryMud hole matches, lumberjack matches, and Memphis-style stipulation overloadThe chaotic, sometimes nonsensical booking that still somehow sold ticketsBeyond just recapping matches and promos, the crew breaks down:Why monster gimmicks like Leatherface worked in the territory environmentHow Memphis TV created urgency even when logic took a back seatWhy this era still fascinates fans decades laterThis episode is a perfect snapshot of Memphis wrestling at its most unpredictable: part horror movie, part street fight, part live theater. If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 31m 57s | ||||||
| 1/28/26 | Re-View #88: USWA 7/6/91 (Meet the BARROOM BRAWLERS!) | On this episode of the Retro Wrestling Re-View USWA Podcast, Gene Jackson, Josh Briley, and Brian Tramel break down another wild week of USWA Championship Wrestling from July 1991, a show loaded with debuts, bizarre booking choices, and escalating chaos. The episode kicks off with Sabu, who is now billed Samu “The Mystery Man,” raising plenty of questions as Memphis audiences are asked to pretend they don’t already know exactly who he is. Meanwhile, Eric Embry continues his reign of annoying the Memphis babyfaces, lying with confidence, dodging consequences, and drawing out his increasingly heated feud with Jerry “The King” Lawler, which is now barreling toward a lumberjack showdown. The show also introduces the Barroom Brawlers, a rough around the edges team whose debut includes chair shots, confusion, and one of the most unintentionally funny promos in recent memory. Add in mud hole match insanity, Lawler squashing Judge Dread, and Memphis TV at its most unfiltered, and you’ve got another episode that perfectly captures why this era remains endlessly fascinating. On this episode:Samu (Sabu) debuts (again) as The Mystery Man (yeah, I don’t know either)Rob Van Dam’s early Memphis run and unconventional styleEric Embry’s greatest hits: lies, excuses, and chaosJerry Lawler asserts control with authority and violenceThe debut of the Barroom Brawlers and chair-swinging mayhemDr. Tom Prichard, Miss Texas, Dirty White Boy & Dirty White Girl collideMud hole matches, questionable promos, and classic Memphis energyIt’s another episode where logic takes a back seat to entertainment but it’s definitely fun, join us!If you're enjoying WrestleCopia and interested in helping us continue to grow, please consider Subscribing to our Patreon to help us cover some of our costs! https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaYOU CAN ALSO GIFT SOMEONE A PATREON MEMBERSHIP (OR ASK THEM TO GIFT YOU ONE) AT https://www.patreon.com/WrestleCopia/giftIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier, and "The ULLLTIMATE Tier", featuring our various VIDEO-CAST Series, Early Show Releases, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), monthly DIGITAL DOWNLOADS for your viewing and reading pleasure, & more!HELP SUPPORT THE SELF-FUNDED WRESTLECOPIA BRAND, CONSIDER DONATING TO OUR PAYPALWRESTLECOPIA MERCHANDISE - https://www.teepublic.com/user/wrestlecopiaVisit the WrestleCopia Podcast Network https://wrestlecopia.comFollow WrestleCopia on “X” (Formerly Twitter) @RasslinGrenadeFollow & LIKE our FACEBOOK PAGE – https://www.facebook.com/RasslinGrenadeSubscribe to the WrestleCopia Youtube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/RasslinGrenade ★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★ | 1h 20m 03s | ||||||
