| 3/4/26 | Episode 4, Revelations | WARNING: THIS EPISODE CONTAINS SENSITIVE MATERIAL- Warning for fictionalised portrayals of colonialism, violence. The Sixth Sun — Episode 4 Ollin's Origin, The Inquisition, and the grand reveal In this extended excerpt from The Sixth Sun, we witness the origin of Ollin- beginning as a frail child in Tenōchtitlān with a wasting illness, until Tezcatlipoca, the Smoking Mirror, remakes him into something more than human: a nahual shaped by divine hands… and divine consequences. Ollin is raised like a son beneath Tezcatlipoca's shadow, trained among the Otomí jaguar warriors, and introduced to the one who will become his brother in chaos: Huehuecóyotl, the Coyote Prince: god of trickery, song, and the wars won with whispers instead of blades. But when the invasion comes, the gods vanish. Only the Coyote remains. Centuries later, the story collides with the brutality of the Santo Oficio: Mexico City, 1539. Ollin is dragged beneath the new Cathedral and accused of heresy, beast-marks, and worship of "demons." The Inquisition tries to burn him alive…until something impossible happens in the flames. | 2/6/26 | Episode 3, The Nahual | Episode Three of The Sixth Sun is finally out, and I am so beyond excited to share this chapter of the story with you. We pick up in the aftermath of the Ahuizotl's attack, where the boundaries between myth and modern Mexico City are cracking open. As the dust settles, a familiar presence reenters Huehuecóyotl's life : one that forces the trickster god to confront everything he thought he knew about fate, loyalty, and the fragile future of the Sixth Sun. This episode dives deep into one of the most painful truths of our world: the killing of Tonantzin, the Earth Mother, who in this story represents our planet, our climate, and the living systems that sustain us. Her death at the hands of humanity mirrors the way we are destroying our own world in real time- through extraction, greed, and disconnection from the land. But The Sixth Sun is not a story of despair. It is a story about what we do after that loss, and whether we dare to believe that something better can still be born. Rooted in Indigenous futurism and Mexica (Aztec) mythology, this chapter explores how gods, humans, and artists are all bound by the same question: when everything is burning, will we choose apathy… or will we choose hope? Hope, in this story, is the most scarce resource of all- and the most powerful. The Sixth Sun is an Indigenous-inspired fantasy audio drama set in a world where ancient gods walk through modern Mexico City, where climate collapse and colonial wounds collide, and where creativity itself becomes an act of resistance. This is a hope-core story for anyone who feels the weight of the world and still chooses to imagine something kinder rising from the ashes. If you believe stories can change people, if you believe art can still save something, if you believe that even in the darkest timelines we are not finished yet... welcome back to the fire. The End is not the End. Rich Aucoin's newest music video, Space Western, is out now: a bold, cosmic, genre-bending vision of rebellion, survival, and wonder. Its sci-fi-meets-mythic energy pairs beautifully with the theme of exploring the same questions and what it means to keep dreaming when the future feels uncertain. If you're loving the music and narration in this episode, Space Western is a perfect next stop in that journey. Go check it out right after! | 2/6/26 | Episode 2, Eyes In The Fog | Creatures from the depths lurk below Mexico City, as Temo begins to get glimpses into something he's not meant to understand. The second episode concludes our setup and prologue, and now The Sixth Sun is ready to kick it up several notches in our upcoming episodes. Check out Rich Aucoin's newest album, Synthetic Season Four- out now. Additional concept art for this episode was provided by The GooseDragon- her scene is the beautiful dynamic stand off still between the Nahual and the Ahuizotl. About the Ahuizotl- they are a fearsome beast from Aztec mythology, although they were also often regarded as messengers of Tlaloc! The Sixth Sun is a project that reimagines Aztec cosmology through the lens of modern humanity's search for meaning. Set in present-day Mexico City, the story follows two musicians whose lives are changed when they encounter Huehuecóyotl, the ancient trickster god of music, fate, and rebellion. Through him, they discover that the myths of the past were never just stories... And now, as the world teeters towards collapse, Huehuecoyotl must help humans define their own future using the gifts he gave them, and hope it is enough to awaken ancient Gods to change the fate of the world. The Sixth Sun is a story about creation as resistance- about how, even when the world feels beyond repair, the act of creating becomes an act of survival. This project is a labour of love, I am a disabled artist who's lost my left eye earlier this year- change and resilience and hope are not just ideas to me, they're part of my survival. So, the comments we received on the first video meant so much to me. I am glad this story has captivated you so far, and I can't wait to continue sharing this. Those of you who've been following this project since the first concept sketch- I see you, and thank you deeply for sticking by me in this journey. To those who are new- welcome, I hope you enjoy what you are hearing and excited for more! | — | |
| 2/6/26 | Episode 1, The Flint Knife | The world is ending, but hope isn't. Somewhere in Mexico City, a young musician finds himself caught between the chaos of the present and the whispers of something ancient. Forgotten gods stir, old stories bleed into new ones, and the lines between myth and reality blur. Episode One is where it begins: a spark in the dark, a chance encounter, and an encounter with Huehuecoyotl that could change the course of fate. I began writing The Sixth Sun while navigating health challenges that would leave me permanently disabled. In the middle of that journey, I even lost an eye. At the same time, I was watching the world around me shift: species vanishing, ecosystems unraveling, and the climate crisis accelerating. It was overwhelming. But through all of that, I kept writing. Because I needed hope. The themes of resilience, defiance, and creativity in the face of collapse aren't abstract to me, they're survival. The Sixth Sun became a story where I could imagine something beyond despair, where even at the end of the world, people still find ways to create, to love, to resist. Now, I'm sharing that hope with others. This story isn't just about gods and myths… it's about us, about how we can still rise to meet the future, even when everything feels like it's falling apart.
