This week in Segunda we have seen massive bans at Andorra including for owner Pique, the disgraceful vandalism of the homes of some Real Zaragoza players, the announcement of the departure of Sporting coach Borja Jimenez which has set the managerial merrygoround wheels in motion. Up the top, Racing have one foot in Primera and it is neck and neck between Depor and Almeria for the second automatic promotion place. This week saw a few clubs scraping through by the skin of their teeth. Top two chasers Racing and more so Depor won, but only just, Las Palmas stormed back into top two contention and there were points dropped in the top six race as Castellon lost, Burgos could only draw and Malaga beat Eibar in Ipurua. Down the bottom there was a relegation six pointer which ended in disappointment for both teams, and Granada dealt another blow to Real Zaragoza's survival hopes. This week’s Jornada made international news as Andrada of Real Zaragoza suffered a total head loss and assaulted Jorge Pulido of Huesca at the end of a bad tempered derbi which Huesca won. At least we can say that Real Zaragoza aren't going down without a fight. The relegation picture changed drastically with victories for Mirandes and Real Valladolid. Up the top leaders Racing dropped points, there were two all top six matches, Malaga fell out of the playoffs and Eibar have climbed in. LaLiga Hypermotion, the league where nobody wants to stay up and everyone wants to go up. This week we were treated to two all top six clashes, we have a team on the charge training to catch them, Andorra and Sporting not far behind either, Albacete won at home 4-1 with less than 30% possession, there were late goals to deny the teams down the bottom and those above the drop zone just don’t seem to want to get away. Leaders Racing Santander lost again, this time more dramatically than ever, from 2-0 up to losing 6-2 against FC Andorra, are they falling to pieces? For the second week running leaders Racing Santander lost, this time to relegation threatened Real Zaragoza. Almeria capitalised, brushing past Real Sociedad B but nobody else in the top six won. Burgos a major winner as they won their Derby against Real Valladolid and jumped in as a result. It went from bad to worse for Cultural Leonesa and Huesca whilst Pacheta’s Granada are making noises about the playoffs, they’ll have to get past Eibar and Ceuta first. This week 2nd placed CD Castellon hosted a depleted leader in Racing Santander and found themselves blown away, 3-0 down at half time as Racing extended their lead at the top. Las Palmas were back to winning ways themselves blowing away Cultural Leonesa in Ruben de Barrera’s second dugout debut at the club. Ruben Selles got the sack at Real Zaragoza, there was an Andalusian derbi, drama in the Basque country and much much more. There were also tragic scenes as a medical emergency ended in the death of a Sporting fan at el Molinon. This week, down the bottom Mirandes gave themselves a glimmer of hope as they climbed off bottom spot with a win over Huesca and Real Zaragoza finished yet another game with 10 as they lost to relegation rivals Andorra. Cuco Ziganda also got his marching orders at Cultural Leonesa where patience has run out and they felt it was time for a change. At the top everyone in the top six won, apart from the leaders and their opponents Las Palmas who played out a dramatic draw where CD Castellon equalised with ten men in stoppage time. Racing Santander have spent 16 of the 26 match days this season So far as leader, but this week following their defeat to Eibar and Castellon’s victory of Depor, we have a new leader at the top of the division as Pablo Hernandez has taken Castellon from the relegation zone to top of that table in 21 games. Down the bottom there was a good win for Huesca and a point a piece for Mirandes, cultural and real Zaragoza which does little to help any of them.
