In this episode, Rachel Feeny-Williams interviews playwright Eva Schegulla about her play 'Inspired By' and the creative inspirations behind it.

Hello there and welcome to our penultimate episode in this sixth season of Theatrical Shenanigans. Today we are bringing you a play by Eva Schegulla (https://www.pagesonstages.fearlessink.com/) Eva is a full-time writer publishing under multiple names in fiction and non-fiction, and an internationally-produced playwright and radio writer. She spent decades working in technical theatre and film production, including as a dresser on Broadway. She was a member of Toronto's Nightwood Theatre Creatryx Unit in 2023, and a member of the Northern Berkshire Artist Capacity Building Program in 2024. She is a member of WAM Theatre's Literary committee, a member of the Boiler House Poets Collective in annual residence at The Studios at MASS MoCA, and creates work with Word X Word. Eva’s play is entitled “Inspired By” and when talking about her inspiration she says “A couple of years ago, I read an article in THE NEW YORKER about a French writer of autofiction, one of whose ex-wives was also a writer. She had put a clause in their divorce agreement that he could no longer write about her, and he was shocked when she enforced it. That reminded me of a couple of exes of mine who resented that…
